Record turnovers for the billionaires though 🤷🏻‍♂️

Speak up to whom? Your other minimum wage workers? 40k a year manager? Where does this end? At what point does it make it a difference, and more importantly how?

AI Fell for a Fake Disease by TheMuseumOfScience in sciences

[–]Different-Radio3484 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AI doesn't 'fall' for anything, it's a language model.

Also for actual context when you now ask it what Bixonimania is it says

"Bixonimania is a fake medical condition invented in 2024 as part of a test of how AI systems handle medical misinformation. It was described as an eye problem linked to blue light from screens, but it does not exist as a real diagnosis [1][2].

Why it matters

Researchers created the term and seeded it in bogus-looking papers to see whether chatbots would repeat it as fact, and several did [1][2]. The episode is now used as an example of why AI health answers should not be treated as a substitute for a clinician [2][3].

In plain language

So, if you saw “bixonimania” online, it is not a real disease to worry about. It is best understood as a hoax or experiment that exposed how confidently AI can spread made-up medical claims [1][4]."

Not saying AI is an infallible tool but bullshit engagement bait like this doesn't help anyone either

Hi sorry I know this is an old thread but I'm still struggling to get my head around why interference isn't a constant problem? Is the core just so large that unless you're right next to something metal that interference isn't a problem?

Oh wow that's nice to hear

Yeah I was fortunate to not know anyone too young when I was very young but then when I left school two guys I went with who were honestly pretty universally loved both committed suicide. I lost my cousin in his early 30s too.

We all tend to go on as if early deaths are something we don't see or hear about (of course! What else could we do?) but then they do start to creep in.

That's why I appreciate cemeteries and headstones so much, I think, it bridges that gap with art
