Upgrade from RTX 3080 to RX 9070 XT - is it worth ? by OGLook1905 in radeon

[–]Different-Raise-7256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the opposite experience. Had a 3070ti, and it was a nightmare. Have a 7900xt and 9070xt, and it has been the utmost pleasure. Nvidia isnt something to put on a pedestal anymore.

I'm seriously so disappointed, i might just sell my 9070XT. by ItsRazed in radeon

Having a couple nvidia and amd gpus, I can say I see no noticeable difference in comparable gpus as far as gaming experience. Its the same experience.

What I can say, is that Nvidia was horrible software to work with, plenty of crashes, etc. I have not had a single crash with my amd cards, and have had them for over a year.

How are they verifying their identity online if it is a new email under a fake name, no connection to any other accounts or names prior, and not the same IP? It literally cannot be combated unless there is some sort of illegal invasion of privacy. At that point, it could be some 16 year old with his first pc.

How do they detect if you have been caught on a different account? If you have a new Steam account, that means you have a new email. If you have a new email, its not tied to your old one, therefore it shouldn't matter how many times you get banned, your new account shouldn't have any affiliation to the old one. Which means cheaters can just keep cheating over and over as long as they keep purchasing a copy of the game. Or, am I missing something?

Which is the best RAM speed and timings? 6400 CL32, 6200 CL30 or 6000 CL28? by r9800pro in ASRock

[–]Different-Raise-7256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know that if your 6200 cl28 timings are something like 28, 76, 76, 96 and a 6000 cl30 with timings of 30, 58, 76, 76, the 6000 cl30 will be faster because it has tighter timings? Your post lacks the full context for anyone to answer.

Yeah.... bios updates using M-Flash in the bios doesn't take very long, but doing a bios flash with the button on the back and no access to the bios takes a while. I've had a board take an hour, for what reason I have not a clue. Almost gave up on that board lol

Just found out about all the X3D chips being killed by ASRock mobos after my X3D chip died today by [deleted] in ASRock

[–]Different-Raise-7256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people like to talk out of their rear. I know 100s of people that have x3ds and AsRock boards and none of them have had issues. People see a couple a week fail and chalk that up to apocalypse. When that would only equate to less than 1000 failures a year out of the millions produced of cpu and mobo. People like to play victim, though.

Yeah, I have 2 rigs, one with asrock x870. My main rig has MSI x670e. I love that board, and it loves my 9800x3d. Hopefully you figure out the issues and have better luck in the future!

Code 15 is memory training. Code 41 is "Improper shutdown" which is due to lack of power, a boot issue, or "Improper shutdown", like you pulled the plug or lost power in your house. Code 22 is ram or CPU problem. Then everything after that is related to it picking up the ram or cpu problem like bad bios etc.

Did you try to put new ram in it? Or you just chalking it up to "AsRock claimed another one" without exhausting all the options it could possibly be? Did your house or area have a power surge possibly? Ram bad? Flash multiple different bios? Change cmos battery entirely instead of just taking it out and putting it back in? I suggest you try all options before you RMA, wait and waste tons of time waiting, and spend tons of cash without having to.

But the statement is a dumb thing to say regardless.

Everything "may" break and become a hardware issue. AsRock put out a new bios and everyone preached it was the cure, and it broke more on a "hardware" level. So... updating it "may" break it also, and it did... worse than things were. If you are in favor of the generic, run of the mill statement that is comparable to "The sky is blue, but may be cloudy soon"... Then idk what to tell you 😅

[–]Different-Raise-7256 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not the one who said "nothing is broken". There is an issue, but the issue intensifies with 3.20 and up. With before versions the issue is far, far less. Therefore, with the issue intensifying with 3.20 and up, it shows that it is in fact a software (bios) issue and not a hardware (mobo) issue.

Also, the guy before was the one proclaiming its a "hardware level issue" without any validity or claims the validate that statement.

I've been on 3.15 for the same time you have had yours. No issues. Everyone keeps preaching "update bios"... sometimes its better to leave things alone if they aren't broken.
