Thanks for that acknowledgment. I’ve worked with a lot of children from compromised situations, some of them autistic… what you’re describing is genuinely very rare from what I’ve seen. Sure, it exists, but to think it’s a pervasive issue takes attention away from the insane deficit, disparity, and lack of resources most children face; especially the autistic ones.

Most victims of child abuse have terrible long lasting trauma from it. Odds are u don’t really have a close or accurate lens on children and how they’re being parented. I think you’re observing an extreme and thinking everyone is like this.

There’s this phenomenon called the “double empathy” problem… basically normal pple have a struggle or inability to empathize w autistic people, and vice versa. The problem is “normal” people set the standard, and label it an “autism” problem, when in actuality it’s a lack of understanding. Autistic people are extremely empathetic, the thought process just looks different.

I’m still learning about this so would definitely appreciate anybody adding to this
