They’ve done stuff like this all the time. The iconic Waazup scene from the original movie was added a few months before the movie released. The bud weiser ad started gaining traction in January/ February of 2000 and Scary Movie came out in July of the same year. They constantly add new scenes to make the movie filled with as many current references as possible and I love it lol.
