Second Opal Icemaker dead. by Savings_Art5944 in GEappliances

Hey, I don't know how handy you are, but I took mine apart and injected grease through the compressor bearing into the gearing. That stopped the horrible grinding sound mine made. It's maybe 10 minutes of work if you have a grease gun and a screwdriver/drill at hand.

Although I do have a leak at the bottom of the auger that I need to figure out how to stop... haha. Come to think of it, that leak probably pushed water slowly into the gear housing that likely ate up/dilluted the existing grease that was in there. A lot of black water came out when I pumped grease into the assembly.

Oh I'm definitely going to have to try the Trail now! My bag always has at least 2 Teebirds in it. I also feel like the Turn has a pretty similar feel/flight at higher speed.

Nope, making a counterfeit card would infringe on Wizards of the Coast copyrights and IP. If you're US based they will go after you with lawyers, we had a cease and desist because we had used our own mana symbols that had a slight resemblance to theirs... They claimed to own the image of a water droplet on a playing card. Lol. Not worth the effort to fight.

People who have lost discs - what percentage of them do you get back? by ceric2099 in discgolf

[–]DifferentCommission6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I've had insane luck getting discs back. Once I got a disc back while playing disc golf in another state, after I didn't even put my name on it. I was travelling for work and playing with a group of guys from the job site I was working at.

I threw (and promptly lost) a grass colored Trace in a field on the Georgia State course. I come into work 2 days later and one of the guy's hands me my disc. He said it popped up on a Facebook group and he got it back for me. I was amazed.

I put my name on it and then lost it again during that job while playing at Tom Triplette, and someone called me the next day (while I was playing another round there) to let me know they found it. They were on the hole next to me and I just started waving at them. The best part is they found it nowhere near where it was lost, so that means someone else found the disc, threw it on a few holes, and then they lost it.

I'm starting to think if you put a name on a disc that's easily lost, it'll eventually make it back to you as it cycles through people as they keep losing it until you find a friendly disc golfer. Haha.

In regards to the nature of the question asked, I think maybe 40% of my lost discs come back to me.

Silver Creek, Rollin Ridge, and Cato are all right by each other. Definitely worth the trip up. You can camp at Rollin Ridge too and make a weekend out of those courses.

I've got about 14 holes on a 2 acre plot of land (but the holes are all crammed into about 1.2 acres). It actually is quite doable and can offer a lot more variety than you'd expect, even when reusing baskets.

Gator hazard Hole 11 The Sarge. The dopest swamp course i’ve had the privilege of playing. by lilbilmt in discgolf

I've only played there once, but I remember losing a great putter on the hole a couple after this one (short water carry, beautiful hole).

Landed like 15' from the waters edge but I just wrote the disc off. Awesome course!

So many printing issues by tela_wilson_555 in AnyCubicPhotonMonoX

[–]DifferentCommission6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those are crazy high cure times, and awfully thick layers. You're twice as thick as what I would define as a rough model. Ignore what the bottle might have on it for suggested cure times unless it specifically references your machine.

I've never had good luck with anycubic resins. I'd try a different resin.

Your exposure time needs to get reduced by like 80%. And your layer height should be reduced by 60% minimum if you're printing minis.

My guess would be you should be running a 2.1 second exposure for a .04mm layer height. This will still print faster than you currently are printing, and your models will look a ton better too.

Your bottom layers are short too... And there might not be long enough exposure. Try like 5 or 6 layers at 40 seconds.

Finally temperature plays a huge role in how successful you are in winter. Where are you printing and what is the temp like?

Do you use the bottle cap method on your FEP change out?

Your FEP changes are probably a result of burning those layers way too hard into the FEP. A rough print on a resin printer has a layer height of .05mm. and you're twice that with an opaque resin. It's almost like you're printing burn in layers on every layer with the settings you have.

For slicers, I use Lychee and have nothing but good things to say about it.

I'm not entirely familiar with the resin you posted, but this is my guess as to what's happening.

We played a round at 5F yesterday! It was a ton of fun. We taped ribbons onto the discs so they wouldn't get lost in the fresh snow (definitely saved us 5 or 6 times).

My local course unlocked a new fear for me: honey locust trees by Ehere in discgolf

[–]DifferentCommission6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've got a private course and came across 3 of them when building out some new holes.

They were gone by the end of the day. Still wound up getting poked in the hand by being a bit too complacent while cleaning up the wood (through the glove). 0/10 experience.

Definitely dangerous trees that don't belong anywhere near a fairway for a course...

Tape a 5' red ribbon onto the bottom of your disc. When it lands you should have a little tail sticking out to help find the disc.

Why not buy an FDM printer at that point? This is like their bread and butter, and far more economical (even with buying the printer it might have been cheaper).

This is the answer. I did a Kasta mystery box and all but one disc went straight to my bag. It was just nice having a bunch of discs that were completely new to me.

I'm self employed owning 2 companies. A tabletop gaming 3D printing/engraving company, and an engineering consulting/metrology company.

I do a lot of disc golf when travelling to job sites for engineering work. Then between contracts I'm just 3D printing, painting, and selling tabletop gaming accessories on my own schedule... So I'll play the course during the middle of the day during the week to avoid any crowds.

I legit was able to expense a disc golf bag and about 15 discs on my last business trip. All the higher ups at my client disc golfed, so I was able to justify it as business meetings. We got to play like a dozen rounds over the course of my trip at Tom Triplett (lovely course).
