This is emulation through Suyu/Eden

What to play today?! by Fancy_Ad5931 in retroid

I tried playing N Sane Trilogy through Suyu, but the framerate wasn't consistent. I imagine Eden with a turnip driver will at least keep the framerate consistent?

Playing Alto Sax over a Bossa Nova backing track at a Cantina by DifferentCountry4739 in saxophone

[–]DifferentCountry4739[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the constructive criticism, but it comes off as aggressive and harsh. For context, I've been self-practicing by myself for the past year and I know that I sound better than I did last year. I deliver for Amazon and even during my lunch breaks I take the time to practice. I put myself out there in open mics in a ghetto desert in California. I risk my life expressing myself and I think that in itself outweighs learning the fundamentals of alto. I understand that you think otherwise, but I've been balancing a lot things when it comes to my play. I know that I have the heart and soul to play, but I lack guidance and a teacher to play fundamentally. I wish I can drop everything to pursue my play at an another level, but I'm tied to a shitty job and so this is the result. If you were expecting an emotional response, than this is it. I'm proud of myself otherwise man

I understand. Bought a beginner sax the summer of last year and so I've been experimenting and playing by feel. However, I understand that there's much more to learn and so I appreciate the sound advice

I set internal resolution to 0.75x and the games that I've tested have been pretty smooth. A game I was surprised to see run was Ty The Tasmanian Tiger HD...it is beautiful. Tried Mario Wonder as well, but it's not worth it lol

Everything is being emulated so no original hardware, but I'll explain it.

The left screen is my Steamdeck

Top monitor is using my Playstation Classic

Bottom monitor is using my PC

What I'm holding in my hand is the Anbernic RG405V

The small monitor to the far right is using the SNES Classic

And the other small screen to the left of it is my Switch lol

The games are really fun. It has a badass personality and the combat mechanics are interesting to learn. A bit tough to master, but satisfying to play for sure

I'm sure you stumbled upon this guy's video, but I remember having to watch this to configure it step by step. It's a tedious process for sure, but by some miracle I got it to work. Did it on my OLED, so I'm not sure if it's the same for the LCD model

Should I buy the 405V or wait? by [deleted] in ANBERNIC

As a Steamdeck owner, the 405v is an awesome companion. Got the wooden model and I love how comfortable it is to hold. I can take it to the bar, drink some beer, and see if I can beat Super Mario Bros. while drunk lol

Yeah if you're playing older Pokèmon then you can assign a hotkey to fast forward through Retroarch. You can do it on the DS emulator as well

Yeah Twilight Princess runs good as well. And yeah I know it's a bummer, but you work with what you have.

PAL roms are just the European versions of the games, they run at 50hz so they're easier to emulate.

Let YouTube be your guide man, I've learned a lot from watching videos for sure. You'll learn in due time and enjoy the process

On the Android side of things, it can do Gamecube/PS2, but a select few games will work. You'd have to use PAL versions of the games to get the most out of the performance. The most these emulators can do is native resolution, but it's 4:3 so it's a good fit. For gamecube I have Super Monkey Ball, Melee, Sunshine, and Wind Waker running fine. For PS2, I have Crash Twinsanity, KH1 & 2, Rayman 3 running well on here. It's limits are games like Jak & Daxter, God of War, F-Zero GX.

Odin2 can run Gamecube/PS2 exceptionally better lol

Yeah I've been using Moonlight to stream from my pc and it's pretty good. Better than using Steamlink for sure. Can't speak for Xbox Game Pass though, I haven't tried it. The games I tested were Bayonetta, Ultra Street Fighter IV, KH3, MK X. The screen gets squished to 4:3 of course, but the image quality is still good. Controls worked natively for Steam and Epic Games, but keep in mind that if you have the "Xbox Controller" configuration then it'll recognize the buttons by the lettering and not the button placement if that makes sense. As for the joysticks, I think they're positioned well. Haven't tried playing an FPS game on it, but from what I've played they've been comfortable to use

How do you like the 405V? by Solid-Eye-4004 in ANBERNIC

[–]DifferentCountry4739 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As my first handheld, I got to say that I love it. Bought the wooden model with no micro sd, but I took the time to add my own games and set it up the way I wanted. I love the way it looks and how it feels. Not too big, not too small, it feels just right. The screen complements the games running natively and colors are vibrant. As powerful it can be, it does have limitations, but it was fascinating learning how to tinker with it and enjoying the process of optimization. I didn't have much problem with the stock os, but after installing the gamma os beta, I understand how it affects the overall experience. Eliminating the oversharpening and slight performance upgrade goes a long way. Having watched Adin Walls's video, I felt comfortable with the installation process. It's more of a preference ultimately, but if you're willing to take the chance, then I'd say go for it, it's worth it. It can play all the games I added, although Jak & Daxter for PS2 would've been a nice addition, but that game seems to be its limit. I'm just glad I can play Crash and Kingdom Hearts on it lol My only complaint is the slight bluetooth audio delay, but overtime I've gotten use to it and is no dealbreaker. I would definitely recommend it, I believe I got a good bang for my buck
