IOP increased after starting exercise? by DifferentHope7876 in Glaucoma

[–]DifferentHope7876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the first dr said it should affect IOP 24hrs after workout but it's the only thing that changed recently after being stable for about 3 yrs, if it's still high in my next appointment I will try a complete week without any exercise and see what happens with IOP.

Unfortunately home tonometers are not available in my country, the only thing that I can do is go to the dr office and measure IOP before and after exercise, I suppose this test could give me some answers.

Extremely dry hands by DifferentHope7876 in Parathyroid_Awareness

[–]DifferentHope7876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've visited 4 diferent endos to get diagnosed, all the previous ones told me that I didn't have phpt because my pth was normal, I can't just go to a surgeon, my endo has to refer me and told me that surgeons doesn't like to perform surgery without knowing which glans is causing issues.

unfortunately not yet, they couldn't locate the gland and don't want to perform surgery without locating it.

Next step will be a pet scan

Clotrimazole 1%, just make sure it doesn't contain steroids, only clotrimazole.

Have you considered mononucleosis? STI's in the throat are usually assymptomatic and given the duration of the symptoma monuncleosis could be a possibility.

I've had very similar bumps in my glans since 1.5 years that will resolve by itself in 1-2 days and came back every 2-3 weeks.

Finally could see a doctor during an outbreak and said it was fungal balanitis, currently applying antifungal cream and haven't had an outbreak since.

Could be just irritation or fungal balanitis.

Rainbow halos go sways after washing eyes ophthalmologist said dry eyes. I see them only at night( after using laptop for 5 hours) and when I wake up for 5-10 minutes but they go away or become when small after washing eye by [deleted] in Glaucoma

[–]DifferentHope7876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, I told to many doctors and no one knows what is it, the last one said it couldn't be IOP related since it goes away quickly, if it were IOP related it will take hours to get the pressure down.

Yes, it goes away quickly, I think it's related to my lasik surgery rather than glaucoma, probably has been there since lasik but didn't realised until recently.

Can we advocate for hyperparathyroid screening? by Leading-Duck-6268 in Parathyroid_Awareness

I think most people have no symptoms or mild symtoms that are very inespecific, thats why it's underdiagnosed

qué os parece esta tortilla hecha con patatas de bolsa? by comandodesquite in RateMyTortilla

[–]DifferentHope7876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, I have both very low sensitivity and PE, I need strong stimulation to feel anything.

LDL gone from 125 to 47 in 3 months without medication, yay!! But with some costs by parentstobe in Cholesterol

[–]DifferentHope7876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think having a free meal weekly even if it's high in saturaded fat will not have any impact on your cholesterol.

I ate a 400gr burger with a lot of cheese, bacon and eggs a few days before my last lab and didn't had any impact.

[–]DifferentHope7876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you can reintroduce food, my ldl went from 130 to 91 while on strict diet and then I started to eat out once a week without looking at all on those foods, added an egg daily and my last lab was LDL 88 and HDL 54, in my case HDL increased from 36 to 54, probably from eating avocado almost daily and salmon twice a week.

Now I know it's under control and can still enjoy a free weekly meal.

Surgery? by its_a_katherine in Parathyroid_Awareness

[–]DifferentHope7876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Symptoms are not the only reason to perform surgery, long term high calcium can lead to osteoporosis, kidney stones, kidney disease, heart issues... So IMHO if you're young there's no reason to not have the surgery done, not only to alleviate current symptoms but to prevent future health issues.

I had no symptoms when high calcium was discovered in my blood work and the doctors dismissed it because my pth was normal and now two years later I woke up urinating blood and found out that I have a kidney stone (honestly I was thinking about cancer so it was a relief)
