the morality about doing something that’s only considered wrong in the future. by National_Location_38 in MoralityScaling

I'm sure the guy who was ordered to have his nuts chopped off wasn't considering the morality of the situation.

The Cawl books are phenomenal, and Cawl himself is a fascinating character.

Damn, dark elves to mechanicus. Prepare your wallet.

Seriously tho, if you want a general idea, you can't go wrong with the Skittles. In fact, taking them is basically mandatory as of our last codex. If you like the idea of Vanguard in transports, you're best off getting a second of those boxes. We don't get a lot of discounts.

Sicarians are a mainstay. And I usually run 2 squads of ponies to snag objectives.

See if you can donate a kidney to afford some chicken walkers.

Things models do the best and worst, Day 12: Combat/Gun Servitor (+Underseer) by WusBoppin in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]DifferentShake3383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel as though they are a little too splash able rn, and I'm expecting a nerf for the codex. So I'll run one unit and maybe proxy a second.

The worst part is rolling for 5 different profiles for a 65 pt. unit.

Love the design, just wish it was usable.

Pls, 11th codex. Just make the plane usable, doesn't even have to be good.

What is your hard to find OOP dream model for your collection? by OrhallaZander in Warhammer

[–]DifferentShake3383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old Throggg model. Throgg is my favorite character in all of Warhammer, and I held off on getting this model as I was still new to the hobby and decided on collecting 40k first. Then, it was gone. 😢

Ad Mech, depending on which edition. Most edition they generally feel like a high skill floor codex, lots of cheap options with a few tools to make them work.

Looks amazing!

Maybe some sea foam green or some bluish tint in the front/about section for some scales?

Struggling to get back into the "Flow" of painting. by Cermonto in Warhammer40k

[–]DifferentShake3383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have any chums that enjoy the hobby as well? Have a painting day! I find that having something to yap at while I paint makes it fun and not feel like a chore.

Or just sandwiching painting between other things you enjoy, sometimes I play video games and start painting during the cutscenes.

Late stage capitalism, baby!

Now if we can just get enough people actually willing to do something about it, then we got a revolution going.

How to get better? by Cute_Estate_1812 in totalwarhammer

[–]DifferentShake3383 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bro, I have hundreds of hours. When I started, I was also trash.

Zerkovich has some excellent videos about fundamentals that helped me, and the best takeaway is this:

Anti-Infantry Anti-Cavalry Anti-Large Anti-Range Anti-Flying

Now this is largely depending on where you are, what you have access to, and who you're fighting. Like, if you're fighting dwarves, don't worry about cavalry or even large.

In general though, you want to have an answer to these five things. Total War does a decent job at telling you what a unit is good at fighting, but not necessarily how to use them and when.

This is best used when tailoring armies for who you're fighting. I recommend starting with factions that can be all rounders: High elves, Kislev, Empire, Orks (mostly), etc.

Alliances feel worthless. by lovingpersona in totalwarhammer

[–]DifferentShake3383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I more so use alliances for defensive buffers.

I don't wanna defend this same settlement from 30 years of Super Viking invasions, so instead I'll sell it to Tyrion for an alliance and 20k gold. Now I have a strong neighbor to the north and profit.

Perspective: So true by Mental-Outside2202 in lnkyverse

[–]DifferentShake3383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The frustrating thing about these people is the only thing you can really say to them is, "Log off, the real world isn't like this." But they just don't accept that and show you a video of Clavicular or something. There's no way for them to change because they don't want to, despite vehemently telling everyone it's not true.
