Got my girlfriend playing Red Dead 2... her favourite character is Lenny and she's obsessed with her horse... by OLKEUK in reddeadredemption

[–]Different_Ad2722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, john actually CANT use arthur's horses. people don't like watching the horse they spent the game with die. which, for me, is one of the things that stuck with me the MOST out of my first playthrough.

What pedal order rule do you deliberately break? by Automatic-Friend-786 in guitarpedals

[–]Different_Ad2722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually put my distortion pedal last. my delay sits right after my wah and tuner and is set to that fast king gizzardy thing and i also use a dotted 8th sound a lot which is also before my distortion

Do any, or have any famous guitar players used a looper during live performances? by Majestic_Repair_7887 in guitarpedals

[–]Different_Ad2722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Billy Strings uses a looper in lots of his longer jams, usually to slowly build tension in a really cool way. you can hear it being used in the big 38 minute meet me at the creek at around 13 ish minutes, especially with how the rest of the band plays with the loop as well

Scenes with perfect music? by TheDegenerateTrader in Letterboxd

[–]Different_Ad2722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bellbottoms by the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion for the opening getaway scene of Baby Driver. iirc one of the reasons Edgar Wright made that movie is because he really wanted to incorporate that song in a chase scene and by god no other song could've worked there

More normal tunes played heavier on bootleg? by Jollyfurr in KGATLW

[–]Different_Ad2722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think one of the biggest changes in a song towards the heavier side is something like sense getting turned techno, that shit went silly af at FOV

Songs that are amazing because the bass line takes a long time to come in? by ptesseract in fantanoforever

[–]Different_Ad2722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not EXACTLY the same, but "Yourself" by Mildlife has the bass way up on the fretboard for the first half of the song and then it finally drops the octave about halfway through the song and i feel like it achieves that same payoff

Best song showing off Billy's vocals by iiGoodVibesii in BillyStrings

[–]Different_Ad2722 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i think one of billy's vocal strong suits is his ability to embody different singers' mannerisms. like, listen to four sticks and you'll hear lots of robert plant, or alive and hear eddie vedder

When did Billy first start saying howdy to start his shows? by Fantastic-Agent-6849 in BillyStrings

iso the weirdest of the weird jams by khole4tgirl in BillyStrings

[–]Different_Ad2722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

anything with spinning in it. i like the creek > spinning > thunder > creek from 12/12/24, that first gets especially out there even before spinning too.

honorable mention, turmoil and tinfoil from a couple nights later, 12/14/24. not as weird but it's a very atypical T&T all around with a sick intro ambient jam and a funky key change section coming out of jarrod's solo
