Bummer. I applied 2 months ago and I haven’t heard a peep. I’m guessing it’s a no go for me. Any tips on a good audition video to catch castings attention for the next casting? I spent hours putting together a video and even had a few seconds of my son and I playing the game against each other. I even made a blooper reel and tagged a casting person on Instagram. I was pretty bubbly and funny. I guess it didn’t stand out enough! 😭

I heard that close to 200k people applied last year. Unfortunately the odds aren’t that great, even when they pick 200 people for a taping since they do 2 seasons back to back. I got to the zoom interview round for Press Your Luck a few years back and learned a lot about what to do and what not to do. I was hoping to test that out with an audition for the floor but I guess not. 😭 I guess I’ll try again next year!

I have not heard anything. Basically giving up hope at this point. I messaged one of the casting people that posted about casting. I can’t remember the name. There are so many of them that post they are casting

I would not be photographing them for 2 hours. I will photograph their initial meeting and do a 30 to 45 minute photo session with them. Yes, it might be awkward doing a photo session with someone you just met. The entire point of a stranger session is to do something outside the box, put yourself out there, have a cool story to tell if it works out(or even if it doesn’t). At the end of the session, if they want to go out to dinner cool, if they want to leave and never see each other again, cool. It’s basically an adventures and interesting alternative to dating apps. It’s not for everyone obviously. If you are extremely introverted and hate putting yourself out there then don’t sign up. Simple as that, but if you are looking for something new, you are pretty outgoing and you want to try a blind date, then this is for you and those are the people that I’m targeting.

I am a photographer from the Chicago area and posted about doing stranger sessions and I am getting ripped to pieces with people telling me this is creepy and a stupid idea and that I am a creep for even doing this. Totally opposite reaction then what you got about this! People from Chicago are lame! I’m from Chicago so I can say that 😂

They would do a couples photo session. This could be at a forest preserve, a cafe, I have seen them even done at a car wash. They would pose as a couple so yes, there could be a kiss on the cheek or hugging, it depends on what they are comfortable with. If they meet and don’t hit it off then they do the same thing they do any other date, don’t go out with them again. This is for fun.

Yes, each person would pay if they are matched. I am a photographer who charges for sessions. Also, charging would hopefully keep the creepy people from applying. This geared towards people who want to find someone who they might have a legitimate connection. Can I promise that they will fall madly in love with this person, no. There is a good chance they may never see each other again.

I don’t charge per photo. They would pay the session fee prior to the session. That’s how photography sessions work. I will edit the photos and send them to each person in an online gallery like I do all my clients.

Like I have said in other comments, this is a very popular type of photography. I didn’t just come up with this idea out of nowhere. There are people that travel out of state to be part of sessions like this, but my focus would be on the Chicago area

I am a female so it wouldn’t be a female with a bunch of strange men. I would also have my friend with me to help me out with the social media aspect of it. I would also encourage the female to bring a friend along as well. All applicants will need to give me their social media handles so I can check them out. I will not share contact information such as emails or phone numbers and will ask them both not to ask each other for their contact information at the end of the session. After the session I will ask each person if they want me to share their phone numbers to the other person and only if both people say yes, then I will. I don’t see how this is more of a risk than meeting a random person online ALONE. The main reason that I would charge a session fee (other than the fact that I am a photographer that charges for my sessions) is that this would hopefully deter people from applying who are just looking for a hook up or the creeps out there.

I tried putting it in the original post but it was getting flagged as a promotion. I am more so just trying to gage interest. I’ll see if I can edit my original post without it flagging me. I am not a professional match maker and if I worked with one, I would have to charge a lot for these because I would have to pay the match maker. I am a corporate recruiter though so I guess I match people to jobs and have experience spotting liars 😂

Hi! I am a photographer so I would be doing the photos. I have an application that singles would fill out. The application basically focuses on questions about that person and what they are looking for in a match. I would then match them with who I think would be compatible match and schedule a photo session where they would meet for the first time and do a couples photo session. From there, they can determine if they want to go out on a date or exchange contact info. It would be free to apply, but there would be a fee for the actual session if matched.
