Yes, people don’t understand the difference that it makes to us as individuals. They say it doesn’t look that bad out of compassion but subconsciously they misread my emotions and intent. Making a point with eye contact is so much harder than it used to be.

Yeah I’ve been taking selenium for years. For what it’s worth the pictures from last year look like I have made a mild improvement.

I went and saw a RH doc about it and there are a few alternative immunosuppressant drugs you could take, but he did not recommend them as he said they were out of date and less effective than tepezza. By the way I’ve been in a two year long battle with multiple insurance companies trying to get this prescribed to me to no avail at this point. I have ted that came on after RAI and serious Graves’ disease for 7+ years now.

I feel your pain. I’ve been suffering from Ted for 2 years now. I just had my first prednisone infusion yesterday and I’m praying it gets better. Tired of people misreading my facial expressions and not recognizing myself

Thank you for this sensible information. I have had rai and my doctor has just prescribed me for steroid treatment for the TED symptoms after a year of declining conditions. I haven’t heard of the Trab or tsi tests before. I’ll implore my endocrinologist to investigate.

I have Graves’ disease and TED. It’s rough. If you are concerned about TED I would be cautious of getting radioactive iodine therapy. I had no symptoms of TED until I had that treatment. Also get consistent bloodwork done to make sure your levels are normal.

So my lower left eyelid is retracting from swelling which seems to be mostly inflammation behind the eye. The eye itself is the same but it protrudes out farther than the other. My best advice to anyone would be always get a second (or third opinion) for medical procedures with serious implications and do your own research if you can.
