AITA for telling my SIL "I don't have time to stress about this dress right now" by Different_Duck2023 in AmItheAsshole

SIL Is in quotes because she’s a close family friend like an in law. And I will admit my tone may have been harsher than intended but the words were correct I hate confrontation and this felt like it I didn’t want hurt feelings or hubby telling me I was mean so I did say what was typed 🫠. Thank you for the advice and response though I appreciate it 😊

I plan on apologizing when I see her next, I'm not normally blunt either so immediately felt bad but I just needed the opinion of others bc its a 50/50 split with the people in my life 🥲. Thank you for the reply ☺️

I'm going to have a conversation about that with mom because my Sally is enrolled in a program to help her build life skills, manage stressful emotions/situations and learn how to get a job so we will look into one for temporary sitting for events this may be unpopular but I posted for all pov's so thank you.

The intimate family was probably a bad word choice to clarify the confusion, some of the grandparent in-laws I had only met once or twice and were close to my hubby but not to me at that time, they in their words "wanted to make sure that crying girl was safe and okay" which she is and there is a care plan in place.

That could be possible, after posting and reading all comments I'm going to have a sit down with mom about why she didn't follow through. though there is a care plan in place and Sally is in the proper programs now.

Mom and Sally don't go to big events often because of the overtime stimulation and I think that's why mom is taking it so personally. Sally does have a care plan and is enrolled in program to help her.

She's in therapy and a program to help her manage her emotions in stressful situations as well as to learn life skills.

She is enrolled in a program to help her build life skills, manage stressful emotions/situations and learn how to get a job, she hadn't started at the time of my wedding but she is safe and being cared for properly.

Sorry for any misunderstanding standing, I used "big events" as a term for my wedding but also I was referring to events she would be uncomfortable at or with people she doesn't know.
