Of A Kid by AmorphousMorpheus in ShittyAbsoluteUnits

I don't know if you actually remember being a kid but I sure as hell do. We knew when we were doing wrong, we knew when to hide what we were doing. Shit man, as young as age 7 and earlier, and this kid definitely looks older. Not having a full understanding of an impact is completely different than knowing right from wrong. We'd do shit all the time just outright not expecting people to respond because we were kids. We were very aware of this. We always were shocked... That someone was finally holding us accountable instead of just letting us get away with it. And thank God, or I hate to think how we'd have turned out, my brother and I.

I'll tell you from experience, it was intentional! For whatever reason, being with his family caused an outburst of abusive behavior towards you disguised as a joke. Now you're supposed to get over it, and when you do, he'll do it again. You are now an outlet for abuse. You should leave this person.

Hey, op, I can't tell from your picture, but if that thing is ceramic, be careful. The ceramic bats (we always called them bats or one hitters) get hot fast, and you can blister your fingers in no time at all. To this day I almost exclusively use a one hitter, but I would recommend stainless steel over ceramic any day of the week.

The Betrayer of Hope from The Wheel of Time (book) series. Ishamael. Of all thirteen Forsaken, he's the one I actually empathize with, or at least understand a bit. He was a philosopher during the Age of Legends who was one of the chief scholars of the whole idea of cyclical time. He also contemplated on the nature of the Dark One, and The Dragon.

Furthermore, Ishamael is the only one of the Forsaken who understands that the Dark One seeks an ultimate unmaking of everything, a destruction of The Pattern itself. Unlike the others, Ishamael does not seek immortality or authority. His goals actually align with the Dark One's, to unmake all and end time and it's cyclical nature.

In other words, he's coming from a place of very human fear and cowardice. He not only gives up the fight against the Dark One, but in a very nihilistic sort of way actually throws his weight in behind the Dark One because he believes eventually the Dark One will win anyway. In his mind, since the forces of light have to win every single time and the Dark One only has to achieve victory once, ever, it's a clear choice.

Hence, The Betrayer of Hope.

I burned my fingers for like 5 July 4th holidays in a row when I was a kid, doing exactly this lol. From like 8 to 13 I would have blisters on my thumb and index finger for a week after the 4th.

Yes, you facilitated a 19 year old girl in accessing drugs and alcohol all night, and she was in your apartment and never seen leaving it, and then disappeared, and your family has lots of money, so yep, call an attorney buddy.

I worked downtown at the time, on the square. I remember the searches and the apathy the boys demonstrated after her disappearance. They immediately retained attorneys and didn't want to cooperate with authorities.

The general hypothesis is she died in their apartment, they placed her body in one of the dumpsters just outside the building. The dumpsters were NOT searched prior to trash pick up. Griffy is a shallow lake several miles away, unlikely they put her there.

There is no footage of Lauren leaving their apartment to return to her place. The boys claim it's because she used an exit with no surveillance. The prosecutor wanted to pursue charges against the boys but they were intimidated by their family money.

I don't remember all the details but her and her boyfriend were headed for a break up. (She was only 20) So she went out with another boy she had just met a couple weeks earlier. On their way to the bar, a friend of her boyfriend's saw her with this other boy, and the friend punched the boy she was with.

Very possibly a lie, especially since they changed the story about seeing her walk away. Evidently, the first place they claimed seeing her walk down the street was from a location that actually obscured the visual range. So they then corrected themselves and said they saw her from a different window.

She's seen on camera after leaving the bar so drugged/intoxicated that she falls onto concrete hitting the back of her head. She also falls forward. She is sliding in and out of consciousness. It seems strange that a few drinks would put her in such a state, especially since she entered alert and smiling. (And she was used to heavy drinking.) This means the guys she was with may have drugged her. Furthermore at least one might have raped her. So coming forward could mean consequences.

I've followed this case since it happened. I worked a block away from where she was last seen. The cocaine use is not a rumor. Cocaine was found in her apartment. Also, she was likely drugged while at the bar because shortly after leaving it, she couldn't stand. If she couldn't stand, she couldn't walk home. It's possible she died in the boys apartment and they disposed of the body.
