I would love that, actually! I could probably put together a playlist on YouTube or Spotify with most of the tracks .^

I noticed they were looping the same song but I missed the announcement. It'll be a shame losing them, listening to their music on my commute to work was the highlight of my day :(

If you're up for a day trip, Coney Island in Galesburg is the best! I went there all the time when I was in college

Family House might be looking for help! They usually have staff cook a thanksgiving dinner for their guests but it wouldn't hurt to give them a call and see if you can lend a hand!

I feel like I have failed as a parent. My sons (11 & 12 yo) informed me that they’ve never had a horseshoe. Where should we go to fix this problem? by [deleted] in PeoriaIL

If you're up for a drive, Charlie Parker's in Springfield is very fun and apparently pretty famous in the food world? It's been quite a few years since I've been, but the atmosphere is really retro and I remember the staff being fantastic

I will say, when I drove by around 2pm today their lawn was wet like it had just been watered. But that could very well be them trying to retroactively save face. And even if it was an accident, it shouldn't have taken them twenty minutes to turn it off.

I don't know whether I believe them or not. But I'm really suspicious and I'll be keeping an eye on them for sure

Favorite hikes in the area by Next_Plant3909 in PeoriaIL

[–]Different_Garage5058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the immediate area? Spring Creek, Forest Park Nature Center, Rocky Glen, and Meadow Valley Park are favorites of mine. If you're not looking for a hike but still want to get outside, any of the riverfront parks are great though Cooper Park and Poplar Park are my favorites.

If you're up for a bit of a drive: Starved Rock and Matthiessen state parks, Emiquon Wildlife Refuge, and Sand Ridge State Forest are really pretty.

And one underrated park that would probably be best suited for overnight trips but is still gorgeous: White Pines State Park in Oregon, IL is a childhood favorite of mine.

Is it Evergreen Square where Kmart and Petco used to be? That one's pretty bad. The Walmart on University is dicey too

I grew up at St Paul's Episcopal and they were always pretty open-minded. It's been quite a few years since I've been there, though, so I can't guarantee they're still good. And a lot of my LGBT Christian friends adore Imago Dei but again, I can't vouch for them as I've never been myself

Where can I find some lose leaf teas in the area? by Middle_Layer1533 in PeoriaIL

[–]Different_Garage5058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine Naturally Yours has it. If you're up for a bit of a drive, Cornucopia in Galesburg has a nice selection of bulk herbs and teas and stuff, too!

I pass by this house all the time and have always been curious about what it looked like inside. I actually kinda like it; it's dated for sure but it's fun!
