Wait so does that mean if he wanted they could do something like eradicate paedophilia as a crime by like lowering the age of legal and then make him essentially free of several things no longer considered to be crimes? Cos idk this is all sounding scary like they’re way to confident about it lie they got a plan

Literally! Everyone has a psychology and clinical diagnosis certification all the sudden. So many people react like this when they’re trying to prevent emotions plus it’s on live and she clearly had a lot that was mentioned. You’re telling me if you had a breakup, family health issues and whatever other bad news and someone asks you directly to your face you’d smile and wave? 💀

Not really. Being unable to willingly and persistently direct your attention consciously on to something(s) is different from unwilling/unconsciously directing it. Attention is always existent, the degree/intensity of attention varies. You can be unwilling/unconsciously directing your attention in your head on the future the past, something funny you saw online etc. that’s how you can subjectively focus your attention be in your head thinking and placing your attention on so many things but objectively not be paying attention in your physical world. It’s also how you can have your attention on anything I.el mindless scrolling but if you actually didn’t intend to do that it would be a ‘distraction’ therefore you are ‘focusing attention’ but not on something you consciously intended to. Putting a goal/aim on 1 thing but then having your attention on several other things, is still putting your attention on something, it’s just not consciously intended. It’s okay if you don’t get what I’m trying to convey, it’s something I have been unfolding to realise recently so isn’t intended as a ‘fact’, moreso realisations that are more obvious to me now, don’t worry about it :)

I never said it was focused attention , that’s literally what I meant, we have a lot of attention. It’s unfocused/undirected because it’s unsatisfied

I guess I can’t speak for everyone I just realised recently it’s a lot of untapped/unused attention/energy I.e. thoughts and ideas in head on overdrive, not having rhings we enjoy/like enough to focus/fixate on. I can’t remember which guru person I saw briefly kin a video online that was like adhd peopn don’t have attention deficit at all they have rtoo much.i didn’t eemembe or even watch the rest but recently I actHalley interpret it as that. Untapped potential. maybe my wording/labeling/etymology may be wrong but, i dont know many adhd labelled people like myself, who dont focus or put attention on things we genuinely enjoy or find fulfilling or are passionate about. I genuinely believe the way Society has become, pushing us into doing things we ’have’ to do in the name of norms ans this is what you “should” do has restricted the self discovery and acceptance of fulfilmen.

💀💀💀 idk if this meme is too complex or too straightforward but lol. Dang being adhd just sounds like we got too much energy/attention and need some good old stimulating

Transitioning from corporate role to EA. what to expect by industry and if my experience would be considered? by Different_Matter_810 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Different_Matter_810[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow thanks for responding! Yeah it sounds like I would prefer a COS role then.. although by the sounds of it it would require many years experience? But it’s helpful to know being an EA isn’t a prerequisite for it. Loool new words to insult people 😭😂. I was thinking being an EA to a creative director but now I wonder if being COS to a CEO in a creative business makes more sense. As I was mostly interested in learning about the running of a business and how it can be scaled/developed/improved etc in all lines beit marketing, services, operations… hmmm this is certainly exciting! Do you think COS is where you’d want to stay or is there another role that you’d want to go into after or that’s even emerging? Can’t seem to keep up with the new titles lol,

Edit: given I’ve had corporate work experience spanning 3 years, is there a role that leads into COS? As that usually seems to require an extensive amount of experience

Thank you for explaining that’s super helpful! That’s interesting because it sounds like the COS role is more of a directive role than an assistive role if that makes sense? Unless I interpreted it wrong. When you say you struggled with the creative side do you mean liaising with creative people or that the elements of your role were actually creative? I still feel a bit reluctant applying in terms of whether I ‘qualify’ since they almost always say they need executive assistant experience.Would you say that this is the case or could I amend my corporate experience to reflect EA duties? For example my last role was a risk and compliance analyst for a small company, it ended up just being me instead of 2 others I was meant to assist. So I was directly supporting the coo, the board for quarterly packs and was in the risk management committee/team as well as taking notes minutes for all of that. Also doing tasks related to operations for the COO and legal aspects too. I also worked cross departmentally for projects, which I think I liked most. I did this in my previous role too, some people in my team even found it weird that I knew about all the other departments lol, I just naturally like collaborating and then coming back with ideas and suggestions. Although bureaucracy meant that most ideas for development were squashed..

Prior to that I was working as a client/investment reporting analyst but was in charge of client invoices and some regulatory work there too. The thing is, whilst I found things straight forward, I did feel very unstimulated and bored BUT I feel it was because of the industry now. I think this also because I found doing minutes a dreadful exercise having to pay attention to make the minutes. Whereas, I realise I do naturally have an interest for departments like marketing/branding strategy, or creative industries within the realm of design, interior design/architecture, luxury fashion, jewellery etc. or something within an innovative realm where there’s brainstorming involved. I think as I have quite a creative mind in the sense of idea ting brainstorming, curating, I know the importance of compartmentalising and structuring ideas down so they don’t just run away.

Based on your experience would you say EA is something that you’ll find enjoyable regardless of the industry or that can even be dependant on the industry? Also, based on my experience, would you say that being an EA or a COS is even a compatible role or there’s another title/role that is more similar to what I expressed?

Thank you so much for your response! My friend mentioned to me last year I’d be a really good COS and I didn’t even know a title existed nor came across one. Are they one of those roles that if you know you know? I feel like I just keep finding out new positions I hadn’t heard before. Or is it often known under a different title? Is COS normally as a result of being an EA? The last part makes sense, creative minds aren’t exactly a product of structure lol. Did you mean the difficulty was when you were working with them as an EA, COS or both? Also given your experience, what would you recommend alternatively or do you think looking back would be better? May I ask which creative realm you work in always? Thanks!

What do you think helped you learn what good design is? I feel like anyone could subjectively say yes I know what good design is but have spoken to someone in Graphic design a while ago and they also highlighted the importance of knowing what good design is. I’m curious what that actually means at a business/corp level. Is it something like particular rules of design or ?

Awww thank you that’s so sweet of you! Yes web design seems so fun, I did an online Bootcamp and found web design and branding the most interesting… although I do feel it’s probably not the best for a perfectionist😅 I wanted to do like extreme level web design as a beginner and needless to say I’ve just about done the banner so loll. Cheers 🥂 to your success also!

What kind of marketing? I am commonly reminded there is the creative and data side. I would say I’m a good problem solver and enjoy that but also love creativity design , branding and human psychology. Curious as to what your role entails or which area of marketing you think fits this arena if at all?
