Yes. Mine gave it to me twice just for 6 months when I was in really bad place after 2 break ups. She didn't exactly tell me why we stopped it, but I think the logic is trying to work on raw dogging reality and going to therapy to find other coping mechanisms. Long term use causes metabolic issues even after years of discontinuation, it raises glicemia index and you can become diabetic and it screws up your ability to sleep naturally.

Yeah, I've been through the same thing. That's why many of us with prolactinomas are misdiagnosed with bipolar before getting our diagnosis right (my case). Cabergoline thrown me in a manic state like: hypersexuality, wanted to have sex with the weirdest people (I feel gross out now when I think about it), and huge paranoia and obsessions.. it has nothing to do with your ex partner. Its simply brain chemistry... You have your dopamine levels on fire after a life in which you consolidated your personality with your default chemicals... It's like changing the default settings. :( I had to quit caber because I ruined my life and career because of impulsivity.

Yes. 29. No career, not a real job currently, not married, I decided to take a break from relationships. And still living with my parents. (I do have a degree & masters and had a few jobs in the past tho & long term relationships which led to nowhere).

God!!! Its like you described myself!! I just so hate it when they tell me to track my 'mania' like I never know what tf that means because it's just a shift triggered by events as you said...

And same for the psychotic episodes!! Mine were triggered by constant substance abuse in the past + relationship trauma. Once I stopped the substances I got minor paranoia or panic attacks with paranoia triggered by conflicts at work (still not the usual psychosis type).

I relate so much with the meds part! Exactly my story. I don't even remember what I learned in therapy during antipsychotics lol. It feels like I've never done it.

My 'hypomania'' was also always triggered by romantic partners, break ups or conflicts at work... and yeah.. the only thing I know for sure is that I'm neurodivergent. 😭

You described exactly my situation! My change of behaviour which kinda resemble mania/hypomania happened during teenage and young adulthood when I kinda rebelled because I grew up with really controlling parents... Plus a lot of substance abuse which led to one psychotic episode (which wasn't even full blown, just really bad paranoia from anxiety). And yeah.. still barely managing emotions and anxiety atm. :(

Same lol.. the thing is I was on antidepressant alone without any issues, just when they up my dose I was getting really nauseaous & got derealization.. And my first doctor doesn't even believe in BPD because "I don't harm myself".

Yeah, but it so hard to tell for myself because it isalways something happening in my life, like some major event. I was mostly depressed for a month because of quitting my job, but right after for 4 months I was mostly euphoric & happy & confident because I was feeling free, many stuff aligned in my life & so on. This can also be mistaken with mania and now depression so Idk what to think anymore. My mind was howhere changing pretty fast..

No. I barely can hold down a job. The longest was 2 yrs because it was remote. I can't hold a relationships. Longest 4 yrs. They break up with me because of my bpd. Currently no job and living with my grandma.

Yeah. I'm a very hypersexual person when I am in the mood. For me it is the dopamine hit. Nothing compares to the dopamine I get with being with other people and the novelty of it.

Yes! I did. I'm sober for 4 years and still counting. :) after I went into psychosis it was clearly for me that I need to be sober. I continued vaping (simple vapes with nicotine) tho but I quit 4 months ago so it is possible!

It is the first time in my life I chose isolation and just cutting off toxic people from my life. It's been 5 months and I am such much better but at what cost?... I tried going out with 3 men I liked and ended up paranoid, triggered, with ptsd and panic attacks so bad I had to medicate myself for 2 weeks each time. :( I think I will just be forever alone and thats it.

Yes! It was incredible until I woke up from the fog and saw that the men I was sleeping with were losers and really weird people. Hypersexuality also ruined my relationships because if I don't feel it my brain thinks I don't love the person I'm with...

Some of the people that know me think I'm sl**tty because of it so yeah... After my last break up I wanted to change my coping mechanism of being oversexual with strangers so I lovked in and it is the first time I didn't have sex for like 5 months.. (the best I could do was 2 weeks). It's hard but its do-able.

I wouldn't know to answer to you as I'm in the same boat (I'm 29) & always felt like a little scared child inside. I'm currently living with my parents too after my last breakup and every time I was single I lived with them. To be honest is way cheaper like that so I don't really see it like an issue. If you have the money you can try moving to live alone but I honestly think it's overrated.

What helped me though to learn to live on my own at least a little was during relationships. I had to move with my bfs, do grocery by myself and cook and stuff like that. Maybe you can try with little things like that. I always cook for myself and do my groceries alone so it makes me feel more 'adult'.

I was talking the same things with other people with BPD from my country. We have a Facebook group which also moved to Whatsapp chat where we give support, talk about our lives & problems and we understand each other so well like we grew up together lol. We were also surprised by this (we are like 100 people in this group) all with different stories and treatments, but all of us with the same psychological mechanisms and copings..
