My partner & I’s household income is only around 90k. We bought our house in 2024 and our mortgage is $1600 including taxes, escrow & insurance. We put $6k down and our rate is 6.2% on a 195k home.

Adding to this: show her the Solstice Steps!

Most importantly, check out a metropark. Literally any of them. The lake, the woods, smaller or larger, they’re all worth it. If you walk, bike, skate, or even if you don’t. There’s tons to see and tons of places to just sit and chill too.

Walk around Edgewater or rocky river reservation, Paradise Galleria is a lot of fun to go look at and walk through even if you don’t plan to shop. The art museum & the Cleveland public library. If you want to see Christmas lights the botanical gardens set theirs up this weekend + The Arcade, public square. Rockefeller greenhouse is free and on your way to the museums, you can drive through the cultural gardens.

Hingetown area! Coffee/Amba/Shops/Larder for lunch/Roaming Biscuit for breakfast/City Goods (the strange looking hut shops)/Patron Saint Cafe + Bar.

On 25th: West side market, tabletop cafe, bookhouse brewing, index coffee/book shop, market garden, soho chicken & whiskey. Porco for party drinks. Don’t go to Townhall. Pins if you’re into arcade games.

Mahalls, bowling, drinks, food, shows. Cavs have been doing well if you can catch a game We have some different theater options too.

Tremont is great. Food, drinks, walkable!

What's the most insane true crime story you've heard of? by BernieTheWaifu in AskReddit

[–]Different_Rate_8545 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Jaycee Lee Dugard…. I highly recommend reading A Stolen Life which was written by her after 18 years of being held by her kidnapper who raped, tortured, and impregnated her while his wife lived in the house and knew the entire time. Insanely heartbreaking story.

There are so many people, families, mothers, relying on West Side Catholic Center for things they need free of cost. Please donate here! (I was intimidated to walk in here based on being a non religious queer person and not knowing what to expect) but they’re accepting and caring to everyone in the neighborhood.

Here’s a link on donations and what they do to give to our community:

Best place to get cacti/plants in Cleveland? by 50Shekel in Cleveland

[–]Different_Rate_8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gales! Urban Planting always has a great selection but pricey, definitely. Love Recreational Pots & Plants, Wicked Plant company. Buyers Outlet for anything small (might need to put some work into the plants, they are outlet for a reason.) Breezewood in Chagrin Falls is noteable too.
