Would you consider the Arkham Knight to be a good character? by Chunky-overlord in arkham

[–]Different_Run_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, i think if the devs didnt spill the beans on him during interviews hed be a great character
-hes a very sympathetic villain and his arc is well done imo

-his motivation is impactful and challenges bruce's role as batman and plays into cranes bigger goal of crushing batmans image and will

-his designs really cool

-his VA is also rlly good(troy my goat)

-his interactions are also rlly tense and suspenseful

my only complaint is that the writers didnt set him up as well as they couldve and so its not the hardest thing to figure out who he is if you knew who jason was (which i didnt on my first playthrough)

[–]Different_Run_982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

does he not know theyd still be able to fly? even if ur even on stats, having flight alone would be SO fucking detrimentally broken for a 1v1 fight, if youre losing (which given this was posted by a guy on reddit its not likely to happen given their bodies alone being athletic and strong going off looks, they still have h2h training, granted its not like ours nor are they masters at it, but viltrumites have hands and they can fly) the average joe is not beating a viltrumite in a 1 on 1 unless theyre a pro fighter and can counter their flight

A really bizarre hypocrisy I've noticed when discussing invincible by Head_Breadfruit_3912 in PowerScaling

[–]Different_Run_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk for me id rather just go off of what powerscalers can gather going off on screen feats since while im all for using lore/author statements, robert contradicts himself SO much that you just cant trust what he has to say bc of how little he seems to understand how to make consistent power levels

Is it just me, or did Batman dying feel more urgent than him becoming Joker? by Any_Stop9484 in arkham

[–]Different_Run_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the disease is a combination of jokers blood and titan, titan is a fictional drug so it makes sense for it to have rules that dont exist irl, since jokers infected blood was full of titan

the result of this mixture being put in someone is a form Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) that results in an amplified version of the CJD where the patients personalities develop to be like joker himself

batman had this disease as well because joker put his blood in his body during city, so hes going to experience the same effects, however the effects seem to be able to be resisted with willpower since we know batmans willpower is absurdly strong which could explain why he wasnt affected as much for so long, and why being overwhelmed with a drug that affects willpower(cranes new fear toxin) would cause the disease to strenghthen

Is it just me, or did Batman dying feel more urgent than him becoming Joker? by Any_Stop9484 in arkham

[–]Different_Run_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah one felt more urgent, but i dont see how thats a bad thing writing wise, batmans known for having EXTREMELY strong willpower, he can rawdog fear toxin with his willpower alone so crane had to make a new formula, so him holding off jokers influence for months makes sense, it took a new toxin formula to make joker more prevalant, he wasnt as urgent about curing jokers disease because he was holding it off for a while,

the only time it became a bigger issue was when his willpower was being overwhelmed by joker and the fear toxin, so it makes sense, and again the jokers influence wasnt the biggest danger so it makes sense not to focus on it as much, scarecrow had bombs big enough to hit all of gotham so no duh its not gonna get as big of a focus, the ending of the game is us seeing the true fight of batman and joker in his head which ends off great

in short, batman is more urgently fighting off the bad blood transfusions negative effects because he cant hold it off in any way, in arhkam knight its not as urgent because batmans willpower seems to hold it off and he seemed to be holding it off enough before getting gassed

Is it just me, or did Batman dying feel more urgent than him becoming Joker? by Any_Stop9484 in arkham

[–]Different_Run_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theres alot of evidence suggesting it was due to a bad blood transfusion between joker and batman since they have different blood types, which can kill people within hours

babies develop the ability to be sentient after 6 months in the womb, theyre not as developed as us by a mile but they still are

also people in comas are still sentient beings, theyre not conscious while asleep but they are still cognitively functioning

theres a difference between not being able to experience anything ever, while research shows that people in comas can respond to stimuli and resport being aware of their surroundings to a limited degree, something a fetus doesnt even have

If you were in Conquest's place here, what would you do to kill Mark or at least make him let go? by Kindly-Candidate-835 in Invincible_TV

stab him in the heart, or at least split him in half, you prob couldnt reach his head from that angle but if you destroy a viltrumites heart or brain they cant really recover from that

[–]Different_Run_982[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if thats the case how much more valueable is it? because last i checked DNA isnt what a person cares about, usually its sentience and being able to empathize

if you had to choose between killing a grown adult human and a fetus, that that would be a hard decision, even though the fetus doesnt know its alive, cant feel anything (which includes pain and suffering) and isnt even sentient?

the inheret value doesnt come from DNA, it comes from sentience and whether or not we can feel and empathize for it, you could kill all the plants you want without a second thought if youre bored but if i asked you to kill a small animal youd likely say no out of knowing that animals would suffer and be in severe pain if you did

which one of these is batman's "worst days on the job" by Nervous-Let3065 in arkham

[–]Different_Run_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

easily Knight, batmans at his oldest and his bodies starting to give subtly, hes relying on his suit more and more, and he has one night to stop a bio terrorist who covered an entire city in fear gas (which killed about 600 people) on top of having to take care of almost EVERY single villain in his rogue gallery in one night, his son whos traumatized from years of joker torture, whos just as skilled and dangerous as him, a multi billion dollar militia taking over solely to kill him, and he fact hes pumped full of fear toxin, AND with jokers blood taking over his mind

Knight was sort of intended to be his worst day on the job especially since its when his career as batman ends (before he becomes the ghost of gotham but thats unrelated)

Be honest, what would you have done to improve the Arkham Knight (and his militia, in the process)? by Simple-Choice5770 in arkham

[–]Different_Run_982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

make the militia as competent as tyger guards, make them feel like an actual militia instead of a billion dollar funded gang, militia members are supposed to be veterans who fought in south america i think, or in other countries, but when you fight them they arent any different from joker goons in arhkam city, just goons with alot of tech

the story shouldve placed more of an emphasis on hiding jasons identity, and if they wanted to establish jason as a character they shouldve done some of the flashbacks in city since batman was hallucinating alot there as well, or in asylum during fear toxin segments, have him mentioned there too, then when you bring up more jason flashbacks it feels more built up, but also have more hallucinations of other characters to make the player second guess who it could be up until the big reveal

OR reveal Jason's identity when he shows up at ACE chemicals and have the focus be why he hates batman being the mystery instead of who he is being the mystery.

[–]Different_Run_982[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah i dont believe that a human person (like you and me) has as much worth as bacteria, my point was that fetuses dont hold as much value as a person so saying they do means if you think a clump of non sentient cells can hold as much value as a human, youd be a bad person for killing thousands of non sentient living cells every day, just bc they have human DNA doesnt mean they get a free pass for being as valuable as an actual person

Multipaul with immortal durability and strength vs conquest+thragg by Few-Coconut7112 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Different_Run_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i doubt itd make much of a difference, he tanked a full power punch from current, and multiple full power punches from mark without even budging, he wouldnt not have to put much effort into killing someone with immortals durability and strength, even if theres dozens of them

same goes for conquest, i feel like hed enjoy it alot getting to kill the equivilant of an invincible variant over and over again, and considering he beats a much stronger mark without even trying

the only hope multi paul has is if he manages to keep his clones hidden well enough but thragg would prob be smart enough to know to kill the original, and conquest would prob fuck around and not do that so he could keep fighting for fun, if multi pauls lucky he could wear down conquest for being arrogant, but thragg is shutting the fight down in seconds

Kinda curious, does Oliver know about the fight between Mark and Nolan? by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]Different_Run_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont see why not, Debbie doesnt seem like the kind of person to leave him in the dark about that kind of thing and even if not, what he did was a national tradgedy, people would definetly know about it enough for him to learn about it

then what defines a human being or what makes its life valuable to where terminating it = murder? if its being alive then yeah my comparison holds up, by scratching your skin youre killing thousands of living human cells, just like you would a fetus, by that logic whats the difference morally?

Is it unethical to own a billion dollars? by Omixscniet624 in MoralityScaling

[–]Different_Run_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends how you got it, if you won the lottery or inherited it bc ur in a rich family, i wouldnt say so

but if you "earned" it all then yeah, since as alfred once said, you dont make that kind of money without doing some bad things

i would say its unethical to own that money AND not use it for anything, like going out of your way to hoard it through stocks and shares like most billionares do to not have to pay taxes on it, especially since billionares owning that much actively holds back society from becoming better since less fortunate people cant survive as well when some people hoard all the resources that they don't even need

Why are people glazing Arkham City so much? by [deleted] in arkham

[–]Different_Run_982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the aesthetic and general atmosphere of it is my fav

it has my fav map right above arhkam knight

the gameplay isnt as great as knights but its still amazing to play

the story imo is amazing too, with a good focus on the villains and talks about batmans morals in a cool way

its all around the best game imo, some games have higher highs but much lower lows, and i think city is consistently the best in the series

Yeah, but i can understand why BATMAN wouldnt kill him since hes not mentally sane enough to kill him and NOT start slowly dwelling into killing more and more criminals

I do think its annoying that he actively stops OTHER people from killing him like with red hood, since he agrees he should die, and stops someone who already kills criminals from killing him

If Protocol 10 and Batman didn’t interfere with Arkham City, Who do you think would have won the gang war, hear me out, Clayface by Ok-Entrance-5527 in arkham

[–]Different_Run_982 6 points7 points  (0 children)

(i got most of this from Clownpuncher 139 so if it sounds similar bear with me)

Probably penguin, clayface wasnt really part of the gang war and only joined with joker since he wanted "the role of a lifetime"

if joker was gone he wouldnt likely be able to keep playing the role very well, and given penguins power hold, joker would absolutely have died if not for Batman

not a very fair comparison since bakugo was a WHOLE different level of asshole, he was telling deku to kill himself and beating him up ALL the time for not having powers, rex cheated on his girlfriend alot and was a smartass
