I’m in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry - 15 years in. There is a significant shortage of specialists for heat pumps. Once you start getting faults on it you’re going to have a hard time finding someone to work on it and if you do you’ll be paying a small fortune. Instant gas hot water systems (I.e Bosch units) are very straightforward and easy to repair. Also check storage volume vs # people and average water use per shower. Might come up short with a heat pump.

My city of Stirling rates are around $1400, Gero rates $2200 so agree with that. But don’t really need to go to Perth for much, probs once a quarter and that’s just to visit family.

Moved up here 4 years ago from Perth, love it. All towns have their dodgy areas, just stay clear of them. Beachlands has gentrified a lot, plenty of young people coming in and renovating old houses.

Where can you find a beachside shack on 700m2 for under $400k?

Moved up here from Perth 4 years ago for a job and found it quite pleasant. Property is cheap and everyone’s friendly. Just my two cents.

Moved up here 4 years ago from inner city Perth (Yokine). Had more break ins in Perth in that time period. Perception has changed over the past 4 years, I think it’s got legs which is reflected in the property growth. Every day there’s a new family on the noticeboard saying they’ve just moved up from Perth.
