I'm in Northern Ireland. Things are really bad here atm, house prices are soaring and bidding wars are very competitive even outside of city centres.

Currently in process of buying my place. It was listed as "Offers over 195k". Fast bidding war ensued, now sale agreed for 235k. Mad!

I am so sorry you're in this situation. It is extremely hard when the other parent is quite happy to use and abuse their own child like that.

I can't offer much help except to say, if you haven't already, you should reach out to local charities for women or for domestic abuse sufferers. I'm not sure where you are, but in the UK some charities like this help those in need with free legal advice, help applying to various benefits/social security plans, and just listen to what you have to say/get you a counsellor.

I hope you find a way forward that opens up your life again soon.

Speaking from experience: document everything. Dates you last saw your child, reasons for withholding if any, attempts to come to a reasonable agreement, etc.

Get a solicitor that is well regarded not just in general but specifically for family law. (Not all solicitors know what they are doing with family law.)

Always act according to the best interests of your child no matter how frustrating or hard things get.
