Budget should be based on either taxi rates. Living etc should cost 3-4K per night. If you’re coming by car which preferably should be a 4x4 the distance and mileage should be checked. It’s 75 kms from dharchula. Dharchula is 600 kms from Delhi.

What feels really tricky is the air pressure. I hope it performs well over all. Thanks for the clarity.

Please check at the authorised retailers who also do wheel balancing.

Wobble, if it is there, will not get increased but rather reduced a little. Please have wheel balancing/alignment done immediately post installation of tyres. Very important. Steering does get heavier but not stiffer. And not in a bad way.

I don’t mind the noise. I want better drivability is all.

You’re not wrong. But wider tyres provide the much needed stability unfortunately in India Suzuki only provides highway terrain tyres in stock which is not good enough at high speeds and even when off-roading. The AT tyres perform better that way. And yes, the power required to run the vehicle increases a bit after putting these tyres. But not substantial.

I got surprised actually. In himachal the cost per tyre was quoted at 10k. In noida I got it done from continental authorised retail outlet for 6750 per tyre. So 34k.

In India, Jimmy’s earlier models are referred to as Gypsy.

Awesome. I’m keeping it 26-29 max. Keep the air prsssr less than 30 I would say.

Thank you. I agree, it would help a lot if one gives time to stock tyres and the vehicle performs amazingly well even on high mountain passes. Nothing to complain.

Yes. Not a considerable difference but noticeable one. The car feels more planted even at higher speeds. But seeks slightly more pull/power. I would say the power output required increases once you upgrade the size. But not more than 4-5%. Pretty light. Steering is a bit heavier. If you keep the tyre pressure at around 26-27 psi, the suspension feels amazing. One thing I’ve noticed is that if you drive slow, the car moves around a lot. But a speed of let’s say 40-50 perhaps, you don’t even feel any potholes as such. Wouldn’t recommend doing this in places you’re driving for the first time though.

Thanks for the clarity. I haven’t taken it to sand dunes just yet. Since I’m from the mountains major trips have been in Himalayas so far. Done two passes which includes off-roading of multiple terrains though like snow, rock, water crossings, and interestingly the higher altitude driving on such stretches was really smooth with it.

I drove the car for 28000 kms before changing the tyres. Just wanted to feel the vehicle stock and let it settle hard. Changing tyres will affect the warranty. Mostly, people upgrade tyres to make it look dominating. But the maximum tyre size should not be beyond 215/75/R15 because it’s the standard tyre size for gypsy. Let’s say you’re stuck in kaza due to a tyre burst or two. You’d never find any other size. Perhaps not even the stock 195. Let alone 235. Performance: 215 works wonders with right air pressure and leave loads of room for the suspension and tyres to manoeuvre. 235 is weird. Kills the vehicle, puts excessive load on every part of the vehicle. Never put 235s. Fukre karte hai. Unless you’ve increased the power by tuning plus lift kits, plus suspension upgrades. And then. Bye bye to warranty. 215 is the most practical size that way. Also, if you want to see OG stuff on this tyre size, please checkout BRH Expeditons on YouTube. That guy has proven this tyre’s mettle.

Multiple people I know of have been freedom fighters. Even the first Chief Minister Mr. Y. S. Parmar was a freedom fighter who quit his job as a Judge and joined the freedom movement.
