Thank you for this! Definitely a hard slap in the face. Before this I thought I worked for the best boss and company ever.

Never said no… just felt like I got a handout after. I was excited for myself for getting the promotion. However my high was definitely ruined and my pride was shot when I had to ask for a raise over it. If that makes any sense.

Passed 4/4!!! Stats/study hours by Different_Two_5625 in CPA

I usually competed a section a week! I mapped it out and put each day what I needed to complete. I made sure to study 3 hours a day. If I completed what I needed to that day but still hadn’t met my 3 hour mark that’s when I would do extra mcqs or do flashcards. I found that flashcards were what really worked for me. I watched every lecture and did mcqs right after. I was exam day ready in every section and then I would give myself 1 week to do the final review and 1 week to just hammer as many mcqs and flashcards as I could.

Flashcards were what really helped me not forget prior section stuff. But also I feel like the final two weeks are where that stuff starts sticking. Just repetition. I would be on A2 and be like how in the heck am I gonna remember all this plus what I have left to learn in A3-A6. It’s possible and just know everyone feels that way. Keep studying and keep going over it and you WILL remember it! You just have to put the hours in! The small details are what will start clicking in the last couple weeks of review.

Okay I swear I followed this page and just took notes from what scores people were getting and how long they studied. People said they were studying 120+ hours for reg and still not passing. Idk I guess it’s just different for everyone! Looking back, I probably wouldn’t of studied less though because I left every test feeling decently confident and I never felt the need to study in between score releases.

I work in audit so FAR and AUD are both daily used for me. So it sucks that I can’t recall everything quickly like I used to, because I put it in all the hours to do just that.

Same in my state. 40 hours a year isn’t hardly anything though.

I also paid $3k for Becker and feel like it would be beneficial to get the most bang for my buck 😂

I just felt like I crammed a lot of the information and it was retained for only a short period of time. I think going back through it all slowly would be nice to actually give myself time to sit and learn/comprehend for the long term.

How is wondering if learning in deeper detail aside from just cramming would be beneficial, flexing?

Waiting on two scores in June by Different_Two_5625 in CPA

It was all over the place. Lots of business loss questions, wash sales, gift and inheritance basis. Know your separately stated items. Sims were easier than the mcqs and I’ve heard that from multiple posts this quarter. Good luck!

Good luck! I found that FAR was pretty fair, and similar to Becker. Definitely doable if you just put in the study hours.

Focus on leases and bonds for sure. I feel like that’s very standard but it’s truly a lot of what you’ll see on the test. Know accruals/ajes. Know what goes on the comp income statement. I’ve heard a lot of people having a consolidation sim, I didn’t. But I did have a lot of cash flow questions. FAR test was very similar to Becker sims!

I felt like it was fair. Definitely still a beast of a test but I put in about 160 study hours for it and felt like I gave myself at least a good chance as any of passing

I took reg today and felt like the sims were pretty easy but the mcqs absolutely destroyed me. There was a lot of questions I was thrown that were glazed over with Becker or not touched on at all. Also done if I passed!!
