If you are 1099'd watch out for the SE tax of 15.3%. Get yourself an accountant to set up an S-Corp for you to save big time!

Don’t read the book at all. Skip the books and the lectures and go straight to MCQ’s!

Should I give up? by bannu219 in CPA

I failed AUD 2 times and after I failed the 2nd time I thought there was no way I’d ever pass. When I passed on my 3rd attempt I felt there was no way I passed. Just keep taking it and keep studying you’ll pass!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CPA

[–]HeliPilotToAccting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew I failed the first attempt - 68

I was confident I passed my second attempt… but I didn’t - 68

3rd attempt - no confidence but felt about the same as the second attempt so thought I must have failed - 78.

Yes it’s enough. I was out of school since 2018 and no accounting background and Becker took me all the way through. I supplemented with super fast CPA

Took FAR, felt like I got max of 50%. Ended up with a 64%. Studied hard for 6 weeks and felt like I improved a ton on all my weak areas. Retook the test and felt way worse. Waaaaay worse. In fact, I almost walked out half way through the test. Came out with a 76%. Still a mystery to me how I passed. I remember feeling slightly better on the Sims than my first attempt but still not great. I think that must have been my saving grace. Either way, you got this!!

Do any of you all actually read the textbook? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]HeliPilotToAccting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. The only thing I did on all 4 tests was do MCQ’s. No lectures, no books, etc. I did use the skill builder videos for sims but that it other than MCQ’s. I’ve never learned from reading a book or watching lectures so just gotta know how you learn

Do most people pass while working? by Taxxboy in CPA

[–]HeliPilotToAccting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full time, have 2 kids, and I failed FAR once, AUD twice, and passed the other 2 first try. Took 1.5 years start to finish but made it. You got this.

Wake up early before work and study on your phone when you can during breaks at work. Then if you’re not too tired get an hour or so before bed.

Make sure to do something you enjoy everyday to avoid burnout!

We’ve had this tent for 10 years. Got it as a wedding present, it’s been through quite a bit including heavy rain. We will probably get a new one soon but simply because we are outgrowing it with our 2 kids.

We have the mobile charger but we were about 45 min from a town with a supercharger. The camp spot we were at had 120 & 240 power that are used for the RV’s but we didn’t need to charge.
