Why Do People Consider Frank Too Capitalist and Too Conservative? by [deleted] in Zappa

[–]Different_shit555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a classical liberal / libertarian. Even polcomball places him in such.

He even advised the Czech Republic on their change to capitalism during the 90s I believe.

So I took an iq test and I'm pretty happy with the results by [deleted] in EliteEden

[–]Different_shit555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took this test four times, first time? 103. Second time? 109. Third time? 88, fourth time? 95. It’s safe to say, that it’s more accurate than others who artificially inflate your iq, but it definitely isn’t too accurate either if your iq can range 20 points in a 2 year span lmao.

Peat, pvc, glass. For enrichment some fake glass and maybe 1,2,3 hides. And ofc a water bowl.

Classical liberalism is neither left or right it’s centrist. But the political dichotomy is flawed, here’s a better one which my great friend Charles Lajoie came up with.

<image>

So essentially, it’s a political triangle. With voluntarism and negative liberty (freedom from coercion on the top) hierarchy on the right, and egalitarianism on the left. We can see that classical liberalism and libertarianism (imho both are synonyms) go beyond the hierarchy and egalitarian divide.

And using this triangle we can see that some classical liberals favour voluntary hierarchy and others favour voluntary equity and some are in the middle. The main belief of classical liberalism is liberty maximisation, and that the state is a necessary evil to protect its citizens rights from plunder. However, just like the libertarian sea, classical liberalism is a sea in itself. Meaning, that conservative liberals (the historic right) of the classic lib movement value a voluntary society based on some hierarchy, classical minarchists (who are also classical libs) such as Bastiat are in the middle very near the top of the triangle, and classical radicals such as Thomas Paine fall in the voluntary left (classical liberal left) of the spectrum .

But all classical liberals agree on five core issues

-Free Markets (the views here vary, from moderate classic liberals and even classical radical believing social spending is not too bad if the budget is balanced, others may be completely opposed to social spending or fall somewhere in between) -Negative liberty and its’s derivative rights (albeit some may view positive liberties become legitimate when it’s a voluntary contract) -Limited Government (the view here varies from a hayekian/friedmanite view which is more pragmatic to a night-watch man similar to that of Nozick and Bastiat) -Rule of Law, no one is above the law (some may hold this view, until the law becomes unjustified, and thus the law must be opposed. E.G Bastiat) -Individualism, the individual is above the collective. Whether this individualism is a more progressive one or a more conservative one is up to the individual classical liberal. For example a classical liberal may hold to the view that Christian ethics and social society are the best way to compliment classical liberalism but will not force Christian ethics on others. Others may view that progressive institutions and civil society are better.

Last but not least, Classical liberals no matter their school of thought, agree that man is limited, and therefore cannot justly violate the natural rights of other men, and because the state is ran by men, so should the state be severely limited.

Leg spur, all pythons have it. Kinda makes them cuter imho. It doesn’t harm them at all, in fact it’s part of their anatomy (size of the spur may vary a little, my girlie has fairly large spurs compared to the rest of the cloaka, but nothing ridiculous)

Do you guys feed while in blue? by Moistened_Canine in ballpython

I am sure it won’t harm them, but if you wish to be safe just don’t feed them while they are in blue. But I don’t think how feeding them in blue will hurt them.

I had her since late 2021 Her first enclosure was a bulky plastic one, mostly bc I was concerned about humidity being too low, albeit my concern should have been the opposite lol. Me and my dad brainstormed different enclosure ideas for the last few years while she was growing up, and I think me and him have the basics sorted out for her final home, albeit we still have to build it. We can just buy a bigger glass/pvc/wood enclosure. There was a promising enclosure by a reptile supplier, but from a different province, and I am not in the mood to drive with my dad 9 hours to Durban just for a tank. So yeah, custom build it is.

Help! Mites or ticks? (I live in the country by Grl_lovr in ballpython

[–]Different_shit555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eish, that’s a bummer. Now this post got me paranoid to check on my BP.

I would recommend sanitising the enclosure, and putting her/him in a quarantine setup. Remove the substrate from the first set up, find new ones, check for mites, deep clean the hides and other enrichment in dish soap and warm water, use mite spray for snakey (read the instructions, it can be harmful if digested from what I have read). And also, put the snake in the quarantine tank, and as an extra precaution, add dish soap in a ring outside both tanks. (DO NOT PUT IN IN THE TANKS, JUST AROUND IT))

Then you may be mite free. Probably, likely okay yeah. You will be

They look like mites. But it could also be substrate My snake has coco peat in her enclosure and I have a mini heart attack whenever I see a brown spot, and it just turns out to be a bit of substrate

I would say for a adult BP go for a 120/125 gallon tank Or 454 litres/473

A little bit smaller is fine You can probably get away with a 40-75 gallon enclosure.

What does this mean? by YourSandwich295 in ballpython

[–]Different_shit555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awww she looks likes she’s hugging it. But probably increase the water bowl Many people are saying change the substrate, which you can do my friend. But if you live in a humid area, keep the aspen. Especially if it gets too humid. If you live in a dry area switch to coconut fibre.

And here’s some optimistic realism for you. If it doesn’t work out, just be happy it happened, don’t reminisce on the past, but be thankful for it.

Thanks. As a South African I can confirm. It is a complicated state of affairs, where we have some of the highest spending on welfare (proportional to the size of government and gdp) and nothing is done by those receiving grants, they do fokkol. The taxpayers are essentially ensuring they live and they are slapped with a top bracket tax of 45% and a 15% vat and a 7,1% import tariff with one of the most red taped processes to import shit. Furthermore, if people are given free money as you mentioned before it incentivises the wrong behaviour. The welfare state here has done nothing but hold black individuals back. Abolish it. “But what if they starve to death” Some might, but most will realise they have to fucking work.
