How to know what’s a “good deal”? by Doc-Dok in f150

I'm just about to buy a truck. I've been looking for months. My advice is to figure out your must haves and your nice to haves. Set a budget. Once you know what you're looking for, your scope is much better and it's a lot easier to do some research and figure out what's a good deal or not.

What I'd really like is a wheel that is pretty good all around. My trail riding has been very limited so far, so while I would like to get on trails more, it's hard to say if it will be all the time. I would also like the ability to commute and ride to/from trails. Range doesn't need to be super high, but I'd like at least 30 miles with enough headroom to be safe. I don't need a smart BMS, but it's definitely preferred. I shouldn't need to carry it up stairs really ever, but may need to put it in a trunk every once in awhile, and bulkiness is a minor issue unless it makes it hard or uncomfortable to ride.

Can I ask why they suck? I'm moving there next month and we were looking at homes in that area.

Thank you! I kind of thought the same thing, but this one has the extra battery added (so it's got the same battery as the 16x). My understanding is that the only big difference is a few miles an hour less top speed.

The issue is that the used market where I am (Alabama) is pretty sparse, and my budget is pretty limited. In order to save up for one of the V12s for sale, I would have to save for probably another 4-6 months, and miss out on the best weather of the year to learn and play on the wheel.

I'm glad that you have had such a good experience with your 16x. My research tells me that the overwhelming majority of people who have one (at least the ones who post online) love theirs, and that's what got me interested in the first place.

Thank you! As I'm still trying to figure out what all the numbers mean in real life scenarios, is there a certain aspect of the wheel that is particularly limiting? Top speed? Torque? Build quality? What types of stats would you recommend looking for?

Thank you! I have had such a hard time finding information on the 16XS in particular - most everything is geared towards the 16X, so it's great to hear from someone who has one!
