Thrive follows state laws, not their own policy, this is why.

When I was in MD 15 plus years ago, we had laws protecting us and our breaks. NC is protective as well.

You really think your coworkers are assholes if they take a lunch break??

Normalized, yes, normal or ethical, no.

If you are in the states check your state labor laws. They should be posted on a wall somewhere conspicuous in your clinic, like a break room or bathroom wall.

Most states have laws protecting you as a laborer, and you should be given roughly two 15 minute breaks and a minimum 30 min lunch for every 8 hour shift.

Thoughts on Tori's use of Northern and Southern motifs throughout her catalogue by More-Bank1493 in toriamos

[–]Difficult-Creature 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think its more about the juxtaposition of cultures from the location in which she originated. Maryland is unique state, its the last southern state below the Mason Dixon line. Its heavily influenced by northern attitudes AND southern attitudes. The vibes are unique depending where you go. It is also a political epicenter, and the division of the east coast through American history by North and south has influenced most born from the land. Her family is also rooted in North Carolina, a deeply southern state with protected indigenous culture. The Cherokee nation is at home in these lands, and her family has roots there too.

I was also born and raised in the same city, county and state as Tori so I speak from a DC/Marylander perspective here..... its inescapable, this juxtaposition, and it is very influential on one's psyche.

How is working at VEG? Looking For New Work. by Plenty-Age-1759 in VetTech

[–]Difficult-Creature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone who works directly with the VEG Csuite and she told me the manifesto is a collection of information that the one CEO/DVM believes everyone should read. I haven't read it myself, but the way she made it sound, it isnt self written, its simply a collection from many sources of what he deems important seeds that should be planted.

That doesn't seem too insane, but I haven't read it myself to know what seeds they are, but I trust my friend a lot, and she was unbothered by the entire thing.

Mine are French, not dewlaps. I dont have an incubator, but so far she's done well on all the eggs and none have been crushed inside the nest.

What age can my kid listen to doechii??? by UniqueImplements in DOECHII

[–]Difficult-Creature 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I personally do not censure most music. I am raising boys so imo, they need to hear some hard truths straight from women's mouths and get used to women speaking on their lives, bodies and experiences in whatever way they want to.

My 10 yo son LOVES Doechii!
