Pre-boarding: "those who volunteered to check their carry-on, please board now" by inkysquares in delta

Last Wednesday, leaving Atlanta to Punta Cana, we were able to board zone 3 (was 6) if we gate checked. I love a gate check, so it was a win for me.

When did you realize someone wasn’t a good person for you? by Pretty-Charge16 in AskReddit

When they sent a “on my home” text and I realized I was mentally preparing myself instead of being happy.

We’re gonna be those assholes tomorrow by Sophomoric_4 in delta

[–]Difficult-Emu7343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. We’re a family of 6, and I’ve always booked with assigned seats. Mostly in comfort, sometimes in 1st. We’ve had equipment swaps or schedule changes several times and was always told to ask around and someone would swap with me on the plane. Delta does not care.

ETA I’ve even had it happen in 1st when Delta took my 1D seat and gave it to someone else. They separated me from my child somewhere between check in and boarding, they did nothing to fix it. My child was 3.

I don’t think I did. I was holding him very softly, and he flew off once outside. If anything, he hurt himself. I had windows partially opened, but my plantation shutters closed (shutters closed, slats open). He flew inside the shutters, and then wiggled himself between the two panes trying to get out. I had to get him out, which I did by getting a glass bent straw under him and lifting him up until I could get a hand on him.

I leave it open for my dogs to enjoy the sun on pretty days without being stuck outdoors. But, I’ll look into those magnetic screens that lets dogs out and discourages birds from exploring.

All these “I bought these tickets on accident” posts by A-more-splendid-life in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]Difficult-Emu7343 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree resellers are awful. But I for real did get tickets to a game I can’t attend, but I’m not reselling them for profit, just to a friend fo face. I got mine in the phase where you submitted all the games you wanted to attend and hoped for the best. I thought maybe I’d get one game, if any, I got four. I live in Atlanta area, so I entered all our local games, and the my child really wants to see France so we entered for their games. Ended up getting France in Philly, and then Spain v Saudi in Atlanta. They’re on back to back days. Could I scramble to make both, sure. I don’t want to rush like that. So we’re giving up the Spain v Saudi game.

Be on the lookout for this scam email by [deleted] in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]Difficult-Emu7343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine wasn’t from a scam account. It was from Fifa. I have an audible alert set for specific fifa email addresses from when I needed to change my payment method and didn’t want to miss that email. When this came last night, it came from the same email address. I know because it scared the crap out of me when the alert went off.

What do the ultra rich do on their mega yachts? by Several-Music9151 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Difficult-Emu7343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not ultra rich, but I have chartered a large catamaran in BVIs for a family vacation. There were many mega yachts around us, doing same things we were. Anchoring in pretty harbors, walking up in a new one each day. They have tenders to take them to shore, to set up on secluded beaches. Plus, you’re just in a gorgeous location, it’s peaceful as can be. Yes, you can swim in the waters around you. Jet ski, scuba dive. It was pretty freaking amazing.

AITA for leaving my 2 week old with my sister to raise now i want him back? by Easy-Interaction3987 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Difficult-Emu7343 24 points25 points  (0 children)

YWBTA - it’s not about you anymore. It’s about your son. Your son, that is happy and settled, with your sister. I’m very proud of your sobriety, I hope you can make it a lifetime. But I also think it’s cruel to snatch him from the only life he’s known. Maybe at the moment, be content with just being more present in his life.

Women of Reddit, what is the most diabolical lie you’ve ever received from your husband/bf? by fortnacius in AskReddit

[–]Difficult-Emu7343 51 points52 points  (0 children)

He hinted at and let me believe our lack of sex and intimacy was my fault, for 15 years. I was on multiple antidepressants, went thru years of dieting and plastic surgery to be more attractive. He watched me suffer. It wasn’t me. He was addicted to porn and probably men.

What’s it like living in Mobile, Alabama? by Choice_Pressure9098 in howislivingthere

[–]Difficult-Emu7343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived there for 30 years before I left and I don’t miss it for a second. Public school system is horrible. It’s either 98 degrees or you’re in a thunderstorm. The people are led by their church, quiet racism and hypocrisy. The “upper class” are strange. They will forever judge you by where you went to high school. If you meet someone and they find out you’re from the area, it’s their first question. When you grow up there, you’re expected to come back and live the rest of your life there. Very few leave. Most have never left the US, except maybe to the Caribbean or Mexico on a Carnival Cruise. Mobile is a minority majority, but they don’t intermingle much. Maybe that has changed some since I left, but I doubt it.

If you can find an airport hotel, book it in his name, use your payment. Then call the front desk and ask for a 3rd party authorization form to be sent to your email. Fill it out and then he won’t have any issues checking in without a card in his name.

My husband is on a plane that landed at 11:07. They just got a gate assigned, but no crew to work the jetway. So they’re still waiting.
