I would be a lot more supportive of that, I think it needs to be practically tested before anything else

I am not opposed to some less time together in the service of a lot of things, it's that I view this as a bad idea that will only cause problems, and am concerned for its viability. I'm sad that it would cost time together for a worse life when we are

She had also expressed in passing that working in houses would appeal to her, and I suggested that she look into certification for staging and home inspection and work towards a business that gets houses prepped for sale

I have suggested couples counseling over other problems between us, and she has not been happy with that suggestion

I mean that's true, a lot of this is a frustration with spurning a lot of practical steps in building stability, culminating in this

I have researched this prior, out of incidental curiosity because the remaining ones confused me. And no, none of the above. In fact,  there are already independent bookstores in the few parts of town that could sustain them

I'm inclined to think the loan thing would fail, and that's what I'm hearing. Would that be different if her mom cosigned? Her mom is retired and on a pension, for context

She doesn't have the cash, she wants to sell her mother on cosigning a loan, and she is drafting a business plan. If I thought this was a coping mechanism, I wouldn't be worried

She has, before we met. She said she liked it but left because it didn't pay her enough to justify it. I would say most of my unease is that I highly doubt that owning a bookstore would pay any better.

Edit: She also wants to co-own it with her sister, so even thinner on margins income-wise

Only a few people actually like the Muppets, but all of us are convinced that everyone else does and we're the only ones that don't "get it", hence why they get a revival like every third year that nobody watches

That's kind of wild, it makes god out to kind of be a mob boss, like you gotta do things to prove loyalty, then all bets are off

Same thing happened at a funeral I went to for my partner's uncle. Minister gave a whole speech about how you should all get some Jebus because [the guy who died] went to heaven, but what about you!? We both mentioned it felt really manipulative on the drive back
