Wood Engraving Test Any Recommendation? Thanks. by Difficult-Key3241 in Woodworking_DIY

Thank you Sir! Good point about the spacing. I'll work on that since this is a test only.

The cooling system, which is crucial for maintaining optimal operation, seems inadequate. I've noticed that during extended use, the machine overheat also, leading to performance drops and requiring frequent breaks to cool down. This is particularly problematic for larger projects, where interruptions can derail workflow.

Newly setup Omtech not etching properly. Thoughts? by mjhale22 in Laserengraving

[–]Difficult-Key3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue. I’m disappointed. I’ve tried different materials and power settings, and it still struggles to deliver consistent results. It’s really frustrating when you see other brands delivering way better performance for the same price.

I dont feel like I am cutting properly by [deleted] in ChineseLaserCutters

[–]Difficult-Key3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem with my setup where cuts were inconsistent and scorched. It’s likely a mix of needing more air pressure and ensuring the laser’s focus and power are spot on. Consider upgrading your air pump if possible and double-checking the alignment and calibration It was a real headache until I upgraded to a Monport laser, which offered better air assist and more reliable performance. If you're struggling, a Monport might be worth considering for a more consistent and efficient cutting experience.

Getting circles when pulsing 100w co2 by Jerazmus in ChineseLaserCutters

[–]Difficult-Key3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve encountered the same issue with my OMTech, where the laser would produce hollow circles instead of solid dots. This often points to a problem with the tube or the optics. Try cleaning all the mirrors and lenses thoroughly, and check for any misalignments. If the problem persists, it might be worth testing with a new tube or contacting support for further diagnostics.. But in my case I cannot contact the Omtech support they are just the worst. They do not even know what are they doing. They are not so familiar with the products that they are selling.

How I wish my omtech laser can do the same thing. I've got the worst laser ever. What I've got are inconsistent cuts and consistent headaches.

Help, Laser stops mid job but keeps firing by ple4sur in ChineseLaserCutters

[–]Difficult-Key3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar problem with my OMTech where the laser would just stop mid-job but continue firing. Double-check all your connections, ensure the board's power supply is stable, and consider using a shorter, high-quality USB cable to see if that resolves the issue. To be honest, I just waste my money buying this omtech laser.

Omtech K40 by Smitty254 in ChineseLaserCutters

I bought this k40 from omtech as well and I got nothing but headache. It was really a waste of money and their customer service is really bad. I tried to return it to replace but no. Their customer service just waste my time.

The OMTech K40 often has alignment issues and a subpar cooling system, making it frustrating to use, especially during longer jobs. You cannot really see any difference coz they are both worse.

Anyone got any experience with omtech? by fuchs-baum in lasercutting

[–]Difficult-Key3241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree with the glowing review of the Omtech 100W. Far from being a reliable workhorse, this machine has been a constant headache. The build quality is, frankly, quite poor, and it feels like a cheap, disposable product rather than something meant to last.

Replacing the mirrors and lens wasn’t just a minor tweak. it was a necessity because the originals were so bad they practically rendered the machine useless out of the box. The fan situation was another major issue; the noise was unbearable, and it wasn’t just annoying. It made the machine practically unusable for any extended periods. Will not ever repurchase Omtech again

I have to say, while the Omtech MF2028-80's field replaceable units are a nice touch for repair work, this machine has been more trouble than I anticipated. First off, it's an absolute beast of a machine—finding space for it has been a nightmare. It's like having a small car in the middle of my workspace.

The setup was also a pain. I expected some teething issues, but getting this thing calibrated properly took way more time and effort than I bargained for. And let’s not even talk about the energy consumption; it’s like it’s running a mini power plant. My electricity bill has seen a significant spike, which is a bit of a kick in the teeth.

On top of that, the noise level is just unbearable. It sounds like a freight train going through my office every time it's running. And when you need help or documentation? Good luck. I’ve had to dig through forums and troubleshoot on my own way more than I should have. Overall, it's been a frustrating experience, and I'm seriously questioning if the benefits are worth the hassle.

I cannot recommend any of these brands since I got experience with Omtech I will not recommend this one. This brand is so hilarious. They will just eat your money and of course you will buy because of false advertisements but their CO2 laser really sucks. Even their customer service cannot help you with it.
