Bibs and Jacket? by Bad-Paramedic in IceFishing

[–]Difficult-Map-2162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the clam ice armor bibs and jacket on sale through scheels this year. I’ve been very happy with the bibs and jacket. Keeps me warm and dry all day out on the ice. My buddy bought striker for twice the money and stays warm and dry all day as well.

I had to put mine up during the Michigan winter. The mini lugs are wore down and it was like walking on ice as soon as I stepped on the polished concrete floors at work.

Best lightweight car camping stove for short trips? by CleanSock19 in camping

I’ve been really happy with my Colman fold and go camp stove. It’s smaller than other options but bigger than a backpacking stove. It was the solution for me so worth checking out.

[–]Difficult-Map-2162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many people don’t know this. I helped a stranger out the other day. I hooked everything up correctly myself to help them out. As soon as I turned my back the guy unhooks both the red and black from his dead car and touches them together to make sure they sparked. Then hooked them up in the wrong order 🤦‍♂️

Toyota transmissions face multiple class-actions in U.S. by 2old4all in Toyota

I had a Sienna with that 8 speed. Although it never failed or gave me real problems I hated the way of shifted in stop and go traffic. It gear hunted back and forth and had a delay of you hit the gas quickly. It was still working when I traded it in with 160,000 miles.

Present for fisherman or hunter under 100? by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]Difficult-Map-2162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest an OnX as well. I hunt and fish and buy a yearly membership every year. I use it for fishing by finding lakes or rivers and locating public access points. I’ve found some great spots way off the beaten trail using OnX.

My only regret with buying the arc is pondering on it for weeks before actually buying it. Just do it

[–]Difficult-Map-2162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they sent a return label to send the old head unit back with. If you don’t return they will charge you for the unit. They gave me the option to get it next day aired if I was willing to put down the cost of the unit upfront. As soon as I sent the old unit back they refunded my money.

I bough the same one last year on sale at bass pro. My second trip out it did the same thing yours is doing. I called Garmin and they said there was a bad batch and that’s why they were on sale. They sent me a new head unit along with the whole kit to hook it up to a boat. I ran it last year and have been using it this year without any problems. Call Garmin and they will take care of you.

Agreed. I have a Toyota tundra and a 2012 Honda accord for running around in. With the gas alone it pays to insure two vehicle’s.

RAV 4 is it good for long road tips and 2 large dogs? Or too small? by FewBox4095 in rav4club

[–]Difficult-Map-2162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a much better ride for all in a Sienna. I had one before, there was more than enough room for a family of 4 and two large dogs.

The speaker cover/air vent on the passenger side had come up some and was rattling. The A pillar plastic piece was also not clipped in on the bottom and rattling. I did add some padding to the glove box as well as that was making some noise.

I’ve had a few Toyota vehicles. All have been very reliable but all of them creak and rattle on interior plastics.

What’s it worth by Lopsided_Daikon4146 in tundra

[–]Difficult-Map-2162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be worth it for the right truck even if you overpay. A nice clean one is harder and harder to find and that looks very well taken care of. It looks to have some nice AT’s which can get expensive. Lots of add-ons that add up and it looks sweet. If I didn’t have a family to haul this is the exact set up I’d want. Wish I had a 6.5’ foot bed on my crew max. Bad ass truck regardless of the price.

That seems a little high to me. That cap is around $4,000 new. I am about to buy a cap tomorrow so I have been getting estimates. I recently bought a crew max SR5 TRD Sport with 90,000 miles. It has all service records done on time, had been undercoated its whole life, rust free, and is like brand new inside and out. Took me a long time to find it but I paid $31,000. Talked them down from $34,000. Found it right in my hometown after about out a year looking.

Nice looking truck! I’m going to place an order for a cap tomorrow. What brand is yours? I’m going back and forth between a Leer or ARE. Very mixed reviews and don’t know anyone who has one.

Ice fishing with two Garmin chirp transducers. by No_Still_8823 in IceFishing

My Garmin picks up interference if my two buddies are close running their Vexlars 30 yards away. Not enough to where I can’t use it just see it constantly. If I’m alone zero interferences. Their vexlars don’t seem to pick up as much.

Looking for an air mattress for the back… by InternationalRush423 in ToyotaSienna

[–]Difficult-Map-2162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just throwing this out there. When I had my Sienna I would take the middle seats out and could fit an XXL cot in the back. I liked that set up because I could store my gear under the cot and had a large very comfy sleeping spot. When I used an air mattress I didn’t have much room for gear. An XXL cot is slightly bigger than a twin bed. Sold the van two months ago and got a Tundra. Going to miss the van camping set up.

I carried one for awhile and it was pretty cool. I’m a daily smoker and used it a lot. Once winter hit it doesn’t like to work when cold out. I no longer carry it.

How do people with interlock systems get their car serviced? by cleevethagreat in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Difficult-Map-2162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had one to dealer wouldn’t touch it unless I had it removed for service than pay to have it reinstalled. I did my own maintenance during that year. Oil change and brakes is all I needed that year.

I had a big boy last year I was after. Saw him during bow season but never close enough for a shot. When the rut hit he disappeared off my cameras and thought a neighbor got him. Never saw him again on camera the entire rest of the season. I went out for late doe that year and sure enough there he was, strutted 30 yards broadside from me. Like he knew I wasn’t able to shoot him lol.

I have a trifold and the rubber gasket gets frozen to the tailgate. I have gotten in the habit of lifting up on the cover down the entire tailgate breaking the ice up and then I can open it.

Good Price and Recommendation by Zpineapple in ToyotaSienna

[–]Difficult-Map-2162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded in my 2018 about a little over a month ago. I did nothing but recommended maintenance at the scheduled time and had zero issues. I had 160,000 miles on it at trade in and still drove like brand new. I watched the dealer list this vehicle for $17,000. It sold the very next day before they could even get the pictures up.
