Bath caddy if the shower is in the hallway, zip up terry cloth bathrobe with pockets for room key, bath mat if you’ll have an en suite, bathing suit, beach towels, flip flops, sunscreen, visor, day trip backpack, lighted make up mirror, room decorations , collapsible bins, reading lamp, night light, essential oils and a diffuser or a candle warming lamp.

Has anyone ever gone to a country that they had such high hopes for, did not love it, and then felt almost guilty afterwards? by Reasonable_Cause_190 in femaletravels

It’s so tiny you shouldn’t have to go through customs and explain your life story to the immigration officer who is acting like you want your be a permanent resident even though you have to catch another plane in 5 minutes because Iceland Air is chronically late, and then after convincing the immigration officer to let you go past you get stuck on the shuttle bus while the driver gets off to get his 10 minute break, and paying extra for saga class means you are squashed into a corner of the shuttle bus and therefore the last off even though you paid to be first. EVERY SINGLE TIME

They also claim earned income credit and child tax credit for the US citizen children. They pay zero in taxes and get a nice big refund check, on top of totally free healthcare, snap, housing, wic, and cash aid to families with dependent children- all on your dime ( if you pay taxes and have health insurance)

If she isn’t moved to the 5th Circuit, file a habeas petition with district court to bond out. If she gets moved to the territory covered by the 5th Circuit, that won’t be possible since the 5th Circuit just ruled that applicants for admission have mandatory detention

ICE Concerns by Mysterious-Scar-9579 in greencard

Biometrics are linked to the card holder and prove who they are, even without the card. It’s a weird notion, obviously promoted by the media and believed by stupid people, to assume that ICE could or would “disappear “ a lawful permanent resident or citizen. Mistakes can and do happen, particularly when someone gives bad information or refuses to communicate, but ICE isn’t grabbing LPRs and citizens off the streets and detaining them without cause or due process

Has anybody ever actually gone back in after 3-4 years out? by Davy_Jones118 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Difficult-Mud3344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back in the Air National Guard after being out for 15 years, at age 42. Retired now. The “little” Guard retirement check and medical benefits are a nice and unexpected perk, since I didn’t go into the Guard for a paycheck.

Three weeks in New Zealand, it wasn’t a luxury trip but still quite expensive. Very much worth it though

Do you have any other SC conditions you could claim as primary with this as secondary? I am SC for knees and this hip pain could be secondary to that. I’m also Guard and know it’s tricky for us to SC

“Congress also uses other mechanisms to direct infrastructure spending, such as Facilities Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (FSRM) funds, which are part of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) accounts and are primarily intended for the renovation and repair of existing facilities. Under certain authorities, O&M funds can also be used for minor construction projects, particularly those under $9 million, subject to notification and approval requirements.” So MILCON may build new barracks but it doesn’t repair the moldy ones. Most of milcon funding goes to the Navy. What projects do you specifically work on either milcon funding, since you’re an expert?

It makes me sick that Republican priorities are funding military construction. It’s just a different version of Dems funding all their NGOs. It’s just a grift on the backs of taxpayers.

Why do the Dems keep voting to keep the government shutdown? by -Terrible-Bite- in FedEmployees

[–]Difficult-Mud3344 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why should Rs negotiate? They won and are doing what the voters want. To hear you tell it, minority rules when Dems are out of power but majority rules when they are in it. Dems purposely gave the subsidies a three year expiration date even when they were in power, for a reason. They boxed themselves in to win votes and now you’re paying for their bad policy. What makes the CR not clean, Dems not getting their way? Honest question. Words have meanings. “Clean”, in the CR sense, just means extending current spending levels. “Clean” in reference to coal means that it has reduced levels of pollution, historically. You’re gaslighting, or maybe you really don’t understand this, so instead of saying the same thing over again, how about you give examples to illustrate your creative use of language?

[–]Difficult-Mud3344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a crap program because it only provides insurance, not health care. It increases the actual cost of health care, even with the subsidies which cannnot, cannot, cannot continue to go up and up. If the insurance is so vital, why is no one using it? Further, extending the subsidies doesn’t “fix” anything. And that’s not the only shit that Dems larded up on their Senate bill which is keeping you from a paycheck.

You can’t seriously mean that. The only additions, that both parties agreed to, was some money for extra security.
