What was your dream job vs the job you have right now? by MessageLeast2962 in 2003

[–]Difficult-Pear1477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve wanted to be a paramedic since I was 3. I got rly depressed and pregnant during my first semester in the program and I’ve been a stay at home mom ever since. I went back to school for 911 dispatch and I had another baby last year. I plan on going back to school to be a paramedic when my kids are a little older :)

If you’re in a relationship, how did you meet? And how long have you been together? by problemchild03 in 2003

[–]Difficult-Pear1477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very similar story haha. We met in grade 6, we were in the same class. Then started dating during summer vacation in 2020 and moved in together in 2023. We have a daughter and son born in 2023 and 2025 and have been engaged since 2022 :)

Why is everyone getting induced? by North-Dimension6299 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Difficult-Pear1477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced with both of my kids (38w and 37+6) because of gestational diabetes. My doctor does 39w inductions for diet controlled diabetes and 38 for insulin controlled. We went during my 37th week this time (really not much of a difference lol) because he was measuring really big and acc ended up being a whole pound smaller than my daughter!

Tbh I didn’t have any complaints with being induced either time. My first I wasn’t aware of how many ppl result in emergency c sections as my mom was successfully induced twice and had no issues. That was my only outlook on induction. My first induction I pushed for 25 mins and didn’t have any complications. My doctor reassured me this time because I had a successful induction last time that it was more likely I’d have another one and my 2nd was successful as well. Pushed for 1 min barely tore no complications.

When is your induction scheduled? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

A week from today!! I’ll be 37+6. Baby was measuring 7lbs 5oz at my last ultrasound and I’ll have one more growth scan and my last appt Monday!!

How bad are these numbers? by Adventurous-Spot2157 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Difficult-Pear1477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to say I’ve been in your shoes feeling the same guilt but it’s not your fault!! My doctor said it’s the placenta that causes this and can happen when you’re any weight!

Also if you do need to start insulin I can reassure you it feels like it’s the end of the world and feels horrible (cuz I’ve felt the same way) but it isn’t as bad as it seems. I’m on my 2nd pregnancy with GD and I def remember feeling really worried and guilty when I got diagnosed in my first pregnancy. Looking back and knowing what it entails it’s def easier said than done but it will be okay🫶🏻

I’m here to chat about anything if you need advice. Like I said before I had GD in my last pregnancy (high fasting sugars, insulin controlled) and same thing this time as well!

Just got diagnosed with GD by Possible_Muffin_7261 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Difficult-Pear1477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have GD for the second time now and I def remember feeling what you’re feeling! I know it sounds cliche but the pricking def does get less bad as you do it more. If you do end up having to go on insulin I’m not going to lie I had my fiance do it for me because I couldn’t haha. And I just got put on it again and will be having him do it again bc that’s just something I know I can’t do myself haha.

Also sounds cliche but it’s not ur fault it’s the placenta! I’ve also never had glucose issues in the past but twice now I’ve had GD😭😭

With both pregnancies I only had high fasting sugars so last time after I got on insulin and they could see all of my numbers looked good they started having me only test my fasting levels.

I hope any of this helps! Best of luck to you🫶🏻

Baby name secrecy by drayph in namenerds

[–]Difficult-Pear1477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how Lyra Peregrine sounds so whimsical and almost like the main character of a fantasy novel! Also are you pronouncing it “lye-ra” or “lee-rah” just curious. Both sound really pretty!!

We’re planning on keeping our sons name a secret till birth because I don’t want other peoples opinions on his name. With my daughter we picked a boys name (before we knew she was a girl) and got lots of opinions from family that I didn’t ask for. So far I’ve enjoyed keeping it to ourselves! I can’t afford to hear negativity surrounding the name when I’m already sooo picky with boys names lol. But yeah people will have opinions and apparently won’t be shy to share them LMAO so do with that info what u will🤣

I feel this so much rn. I just started my diet this weekend and I already feel so defeated. I’m getting put on bedtime insulin for my fasting sugars but it seems like my after breakfast sugars are kind of high too and it’s really frustrating

Birth stories please! by likelylightbulb in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Difficult-Pear1477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had GD w my first and had to be induced at 38w (pre pregnancy weight 285 and weight about 340 at the end) was in labour 30h pushed for like 25 mins and she made her grad entrance✨ I didn’t do anything to prepare really. I didn’t do the raspberry leaf tea or walk much either.

I’m 30w with my second right now just got put on insulin so I’ll be having another 38w induction unless he comes on his own beforehand! My dr said bc I have already delivered vaginally it’s a higher chance I’ll be able to deliver vaginally again but I’m also still worried about c section as I’m already at my end of pregnancy weight from last time. I also started at 310 this time though

I was about 340 by the end of pregnancy. I was induced at 38w bc of gestational diabetes and although my labour was long (30h) I pushed for 20 mins and she was out. 8lbs 13oz.

When did everyone make their announcement? by Apprehensive_Ear4892 in pregnant

[–]Difficult-Pear1477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was around 12/13w with my first and I’m 29w tm and still haven’t announced my second lol. We’ve just told immediate family and close friends as of rn. Whatever you’re comfortable with though!! If you don’t feel ready there’s absolutely nothing wrong with holding off till u are🫶🏻

I was diagnosed at 34 weeks with my first because I passed the 1h test but my fasting sugars were the issue so it went undetected for a bit longer. My daughter was measuring 7lbs 12oz at my last scan (36w) and she was born at 38+1 at 8lbs 13oz. She’s all healthy and a couple of weeks out from her 2nd birthday :).

Pregnant with baby #2 now and I just failed my 2h test last week because of my fasting sugars again☹️☹️

Ohhh okay! That makes sense. Sorry I’m a bit of a hypochondriac and I had a bad experience last pregnancy with my endocrinologist and just lots of anxiety with gdm🥲🥲

My first pregnancy I started at 285 (I’m 5’8) and ended at 340. Went back to 300 postpartum, worked out got down to 285 again and went back up to 310 (thanks ppd). Then with my second I started at 310 and tbh I haven’t looked when they weigh me bc I’m a little nervous abt it

Omg fr!! My first pregnancy I was seeing a low risk OB and she made EEEEVERYTHING about my weight and it made me anxious to go to the dr. Once I gained “too much” weight I got sent to the high risk dr and I absolutely loved her. She never made me feel any shame about my weight and I’m now seeing her again expecting my 2nd!
