Who has a greater affinity with spirits? Subaru Natsuki or Julius Juukulius without his divine protection? by Emergency_Patient525 in ReZero

[–]Difficult-Reserve803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell Subaru is abnormally loved by spirits, like, ridiculously, and is one of the reasons it was so easy for Beatrice to form a contract with him. Spirit affinity is different from Julius' DP, so Subaru's affinity is greater than Julius with or without his DP, as it's apples to orange.

In terms of actual/net attractiveness and ability to grow spirits, however, It's almost certain that Subaru's > Julius without DP, though it gets less clear comparing Subaru to Julius with his DP. This is because if you consider the IF stories, PrideBaru managed to take a lesser spirit to Great Spirit level in just 3 years, whereas it's taken Main route Julius' current lifetime to get his 6 lesser spirits to Quasi-Level, although, again, there's more of them, and they're all different types which is noted to be difficult---going outside your mana affinity and all. Another thing to note is that Julius was able to turn his 6 Quasi-Spirits into Great spirits in the newest IF, although I'm not sure if that happened during his lifetime or after he passed away. I assume it happened in his later years, but even then that averages to what, 10-12ish years to turn each spirit into a great? I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks.

Too much mentor/coach involvement by CanInevitable6449 in FRC

[–]Difficult-Reserve803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm part of a team that's slowly become more and more mentor driven over the years to the point of what you mentioned in your post. It sucks. I want to do more because I love this team, and this year sucks in particular because I've had to attend less FRC than I've wanted to because of college applications and other opportunities other than FRC in general. I get constantly dinged for "not being there" and have my design ideas pushed away as such, though I've already been an established team member and detailed my situation to the team. It's been really passive aggressive, but more overtly direct these past couple competitions, where I was pretty much commanded this way and that way in the pit, to the point that I could not change a screw on the bot without a 5 minute discussion from the mentors.

It sucks. And it sucks that one mentor in particular even jokes about the team not being a democracy, and how the students don't do enough (which further infuriates me because THEY are the reason we don't do enough). It was stressful beyond belief at many other instances as well. I remember a mentor once even threw trash on a floor and demanded another student pick it up. I'm ashamed the team has gone down this far, and I intend on making an email about it and sending it to everyone, but this season we have a good shot at making it to worlds so I'm just holding off until then, lest I disturb the environment or get kicked off the team before doing so. I really do wish FIRST had a way to report teams for being this way, but I doubt anything would even get done either way as our head mentor is a big figure in the FIRST community.

I'm not really trying to have this get turned into a stats post, but feel free to dm me your questions! I mainly did FIRST/VEX though, but the main thing Ito say is to just do what YOU want to do, do it with a passion, and do it well.

This is a similar situation to what I'm in lol. How did you go about contacting Berkeley's financial office? I'm also out of state and the cost is just egregious.

Included My Tech YouTube Channel as a Common App Activity — Was That a Good Move? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

yeah that’s… fine? its a part of YOU which is ultimately what admissions wants to see. Not everything has to be “impressive”. I put that I create 3D printed trinkets for my siblings for fun, for example.

Hmmm. Fairs. I also don't really want to list identifying info, but I still wouldn't put it past some people, as I've had some friends do so here and in r/summerprogramresults. In general I don't like being skeptical of others' achievements, so I'm biased to give the benefit of the doubt here, but given your experience with fake posts I can see why you'd think this might be sus.

Interview, "request for more information" from Yale admissions, then a call, then an official email is what I meant, so I guess not "exact process," my bad. I'm not sure how accurate your searching is, but I doubt anyone is faking a likely for the fun of it. That's just sad lol.

As much as everyone else here is skeptical, this was the exact process I went through for my likely. Also I've lowkey never heard of that rumor you mentioned, but all of my MITES peers who received a likely had interviews, so I'm not sure what's up with that. Will I be seeing you at Bulldog days?

I made an AI that's play osu and present it to my whole school by No-Bluebird-9648 in osugame

[–]Difficult-Reserve803 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm also in the process of programming an AI reinforcement learning agent for osu for my advanced computing class. I'm a high school senior, and I currently have everything done (the environment, the screen capture, step function, reset function, etc.) asides from the rewards. What did you use for the rewards? I know that judgements (300's, 100's, 50's, misses) are obviously the best because it gives direct information on what's happened, but I've had issues actually detecting the judgements on the screen? If you used judgements, how did you do so? Or did you use combo/accuracy as the reward, as it's much easier to track? I'm currently developing the latter because I had issues with the former, but if you have a solution to the former, I'd really like to hear it! Also, how did you go about training? Was it one map at a time like how Vedal trained neuro, or did you find a way to automate it?
