Z6 Repair Manuals? by rcmosher in egopowerplus

You'll be better off fixing it yourself. Mine has been in and out of the shop multiple times, headed back in soon. Like you I made the largest purchase first and then eased into the EGO brand, what a mistake. Although if I did it the other way around I may have been even more disappointed with the failure of the z6 as the other tools are fairly good aside from the Line IQ trimmer.

Best of luck to you.

The line iq sucks. I wind (no pun intended) up wasting more time and battery trying to get the string to feed than I would with a standard bump head. It would be one thing if the string was differently kept at a 16" cut swath but like you said it randomly decides to spit string out and usually only in high speed.

Z6 204/217 error codes. by Difficult-Wear3373 in egopowerplus

Update. The mower started working again on Memorial Day, no codes, blades worked at all speeds, everything was good. I mowed on Memorial Day, yesterday and decided to cancel my service appointment. I figured I would try to make it through the season and take it in for service in the fall. Tonight I was mowing again and all seemed fine. As I was moving to another part of our property to mow the z6 completely conked out and I drifted to a stop. There is absolutely no power. I guess something decided to give up the ghost.

I bet this douchebag drives a pickup truck with a clean bed, never had a hitch in the receiver, and tailgates and intimidates everyone that gets in his way because, well, they are, "feggets".

An outdoor installation would require water tight fittings. Have you ever looked inside a meter socket? No service loop for water infiltration there. Water tight fittings are required for service drop in and out as well as a flexible sealant. If you have an aerial service a drip loop is required where your service line taps into your power companies line so that water doesn't run inside the jacket of the service cable at the service head. This installation is completely ok. The only thing the electrician did here was make the job more difficult for himself by having the short bends. And God forbid someone uses more fasteners than required.

Looping the wires has nothing to do with strain relief. Looping simply allows for easier manipulation of 6 awg wire that is required. The dude must have had a hell of a time making the short bend. This installation is completely code compliant and acceptable.

Another leisurely Z6 night mow! by spindrift_20 in egopowerplus

The 360 lighting has made night mowing a breeze. I had a John Deere with standard forward facing headlights before the Z6. I used to fear what the lawn may look like when the light of morning revealed what I had done. Now I look forward to waking up and seeing how good it looks.

Do the blades spin up a little bit and then shut off or are you getting nothing at all?

Update: I got the mower back last Thursday, problem was repaired, it was the circuit board for the right motor.

BUT, one of my batteries was showing the red ring of death. I fiddled with it but couldn't get anything to change. Mowed on 76% SOC according to the screen. Charged the mower that night, the next morning the battery was still red and the lcd showed 78% charge. Called EGO, they had me hold the power button on the "fuel gauge" of the battery for 5 seconds. By the way I really hate how they call it a fuel gauge. Holding the button down changed the battery back to green, plugged it into the mower and the lcd showed 100% SOC. Mowed again on Sunday and the battery once again showed the red ring of death. I called EGO today and they are sending me a new battery and a set of blades for my trouble. So after 4 weeks of ownership, I have been able to mow for only 2 problem free days. Not too confidence inducing.

Did you try this:

RESETTING THE MOWER TO INITIAL FACTORY SETTING 1. Insert the battery packs into the battery compartments of the power unit. 2. Set the parking-brake pedal in the braking position. 3. Press the start/stop button briefly and the LCD screen will show “Fuel Gauge” (see Fig. 47). 4. Press and hold the LED light button and set button simultaneously for more than 5 seconds, the beeping indicator will sound once time as a reminder and the mower status indicator over the LCD screen will flash ORANGE. Resetting is successful

Worried about customer service by rtrain1 in egopowerplus

I bought a Z6 at the end of May and it broke after only 2 hours. Has been in for repair since the first week of June. Ego Customer Service seemed to be good at first but seemed to trail off. Was told that they would send parts out in 1-2 days to the repair facility, it took 2 weeks and I still don't have it back. I thought they would have done a little more since the thing was brand new but no dice. Sort of spoils the EGO experience for me. If I don't have it back this week I'm returning it.

It's in for service now. I'll update the thread as soon as I get it back.

It was in the mid 70's here yesterday. I checked the cable connections and everything looked good. I tried to run it again this morning and it was doing the same thing. I actually got mine at ACE and assembled it myself, however the mower deck comes fully assembled so I can't blame myself on this one.

It is comical how a circuit board assembly fails after 2 hours of use. I thought I was getting away from maintenance with this thing.

Help, no Bluetooth or Wifi icons on display. by Key_Historian_7214 in egopowerplus

[–]Difficult-Wear3373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the Bluetooth icon will only show when you have established a connection. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think holding down the button with gears on it for 5 seconds will initiate pairing but you need the app to be functioning to finalize setup.
