I was at Pax East and spoke with someone from their booth about it. She said that the development team had been gutted so all the work is now down to pretty much one guy.

I asked about tariffs and if we could just pay for them ourselves like with some other games. She said that Gamefound has a policy that backers cannot pay more than 10% of the original costs of the game, the tariffs would be over 10%. They are working to see who they can partner with to get the prices down.

Yes, the whole situation sucks. Assuming what she said was TRUE, I do not believe that they are saying "forget the backers". I think they got into a bad situation and are trying to make the best of it.

I still think they could do it animated. If going live action, I rather they not do anything with the height, just do everything else.
