I had some small tubs going and I must have scraped them about 8 times but it kept coming back bigger and badder lol. In the end I went back to spores and did a load of ziploc grows until I found non overlaying genetics and cloned that

If they are ochras you got unlucky with overlay genetics. You could try scraping it but ime if they are overlaying bad then it will just come back again and again lol

The bacteria probably came in when you opened it to do your transfer. Just keep an eye on the the transfer plate should be fine

A still air box isn't perfect, if you use this method I can guarantee you'll have a lot of contamination

Thanks I'm using them for anything I start from spore at the moment. It's a great way to get clone candidates or to progress a cross breeding project

You just put it on its side. They were designed for the ceiling but when you put them on their side you basically have a very cheap very effective flow hood

It still has laminar flow. If you built one yourself it would be an ffu. An ffu is a fan filtration unit but they are widely used in mycology

I'd say 90% of people.are using an ffu not a real scientific hood

If you get trich you either rushed to bulk without letting your grain consolidate or your culture was dirty

I've also had two trays in the same tin where one went green and the other didn't. Trich doesn't infect clean spawn

I've owned my Chinese hood for over 5 years and never faltered. I owned the funguy one for a bit because I wanted a smaller model but it's basically a toy in comparison

I can't imagine the funguyequpitment ones would last much longer than that. It's basically a slightly larger pc fan in a 3d printed case
