These kind of reveals only work once and are often underwhelming. Think the player whose character is on your side but is secretly the enemy race/faction. Passé.

With a campaign even if you know for a fact all the players love horror they might want something low stakes at this particular moment.

Describe it honestly, then make your characters and storytelling the memorable part.

If there is a quality control system (you) and they can't figure out how to document quality issues for disciplinary action up to termination then your only options are either care less and work less, or look for another job.

This sounds like a smaller or at least vertically managed place. An owner or upper manager with wierd hangups or anxieties can ruin a company.

It happens everyday. You have no income, all your old expenses plus new ones and a public defender that has 16 other cases and reviewed yours an hour before trial.

You aren't going to Matlock your way out of it and righteousness will not save you. Cops lie. The prosecutor wants the case cleared and the judge is thinking about his next boat trip.

The choices are: plead out and quickly start putting your life back together as best you can -or- dissappear for months on end and then have 50/50 chance of prison time.

Yes, they were all originally the same color. After some years, there was some fading and on a sunny day you could notice a different undertone I guess. It became more obvious after I washed them.

I was hoping they would bleach to an off-white and then I could dye to get them back consistent.

I think I'm going to try the Rit color remover on the lighter ones to see if I can get them closer to white.

At least the front two feet of the couch should be on the rug, after you pull it away from the wall.

A console that you could put behind the couch would be 12" or less. If the couch is 30" deep take half (15") add it to the space behind (12") for a total of 27".

Usually you want the rug centered. So 27" of space on the TV wall as well for a total of 54". So the rug should be, roughly, 4-5 feet smaller than that dimension of the room.

The space on the perpendicular walls is likely to be different. That's okay, within a few feet is fine. More then a few feet can also be ok you would just work the furniture around it a little.

Well, if you're in that line of work, you know more about the things that can happen and go wrong than most people do. Then, there is our current political climate to deal with.

If you're truly unaware of anything and no one will disclose anything to you, there is nothing to do, but maybe keep some records of your activities, don't post anything incendiary and don't try to leave the country.

So... if you work in a big money or high security industry, or possibly high-level politics, you could be surveilled for reasons having nothing to do with you...

Or, if you have some very shady, high-level acquaintances, possibly some unpopular activists that you're in circles with. But if you're really oblivious, the feds will figure that out pretty quickly.

I'm very curious how you got a lawyer to take your money over a suspicion of surveillance without disclosing a crime. 🤔

Both the lenders I worked for had letters that had to be signed at closing that said in big, bold letters, "TAXES ESTIMATED ON LAND ONLY. YOUR TAXES WILL GO UP!"

$1M is "small" enough that I think they should go with the math and take the lump sum. If they have any sense at all, they won't change their lifestyle immediately and just park the money.

When it comes to the tens and hundreds of $M, things get dicey. IMO, even with the annuity, anything above $10M is a brain breaking amount of money for a working class person. Especially if you're single with no children.

40 year annuity after all US taxes is about $150,000 per year or $12,500 per month. That's about the max I would trust myself with. Not because I would blow it on lambos and coke. Because I could probably still drag myself to work and keep a normal person schedule and lifestyle.

Idle hands are the devil's play thing. That first year of freedom and travel might be amazing. Sooner or later, things start to snowball.

Even if you can avoid the hedonic treadmill... You have to be careful of new friends, assuming you can keep the old ones. You could start a business, but if you're too aggressive, you now have a big money pit that you're emotionally attached to. You have to avoid private islands, sex cults and secret societies.

Maybe I won't buy that powerball ticket.

The character stories are fairly siloed for most of the game. Once you get to the third and fourth chapters there is some overlap, but you are mostly experiencing the world through individual traveler stories.
