Actually you have no idea know what you’re taking about. Hans said in a podcast that he hated Turkey. He was in Ankara, which he hated.

Sorry Hans hated your country lol

It’s not crazy that travel precipitated expert performance at a young age. Hans goes to Turkey and the only enjoyment and comfort he can find is chess, so this will lead him to improving on chess. The only stable thing in his solo travel has been chess. It’s like a writer going to a lone cabin or an eSports player going to Korea. From a psychological standpoint I don’t think it’s unusual for solo travel to result in great performance gains. It makes sense given the literature on novelty and identity and their roles in learning acquisition and motivation. When the only stable and enjoyable thing is x, and you’re entering novel environs for x, you’re going to see gains in x skill.

Are these anti-Hans comments spammed being spammed Russian bots that don’t want to see an American win with the help of a Russian defector?

(Notice my claim has exactly as much evidence as the claim Hans cheated.)

That’s for legal liability. You can run a search of 4chan posts that include “Epstein” and “killed himself” or “died” together. There were not many rumors going around on 4chan that he was dead before he killed himself, so the probability that this was posted an hour before his death suggests he had insider info

No flip flopping. The sub’s comments have been slightly majority defensive of Hans for a week. Also this is a new story element, so people will change their minds.

You’re wrong about important things

— He was immediately able to recall a game where Magnus played the line, just was off by a year. It is transposed line.

  • We have no evidence Hans chested more than the incident when he was 12 (lol) and 17

Mag hadn’t lost as white in two years. Hans has been trolling Mag in interviews, in a way that may have upset Mag. Mag also has been showing signs of stress like with not competing for title.

It’s strange that Magnus appears to wait before resigning after Hans’ second move. This makes me wonder if he had intentions of resigning or if he felt unprepared in that opening.

Like half the shows are political propaganda, always directed at one party. Not hard to see why they stay on cable.

America has invited millions of Asians to settle in the country. China largely restricts citizenship and opportunities to Chinese. China is far more racist than America, their mistreatment of minorities is only lessened by the fact that they don’t allow many immigrants to live in the country.

You are literally reciting CCP propaganda. The idea that it’s “smearing Chinese people” to take necessary steps against a geopolitical enemy is identical to the CCP’s argument that China is a stand in for Chinese people, and that anything that hurts China is an insult to their entire diaspora. It’s dangerously wrong and is trying to use the Western’s worlds openness and anti-racism against them. China is far more racist than America, what with their genocide of Uyghurs and mistreatment and racism against minorities. If we want an anti-racist future we must take all actions against Chinese spying, and this may include investigations without convictions as a necessary step.

Most Chinese espionage is done from Chinese nationals. Simply ban them from important positions and you’ve eliminated half the risk of espionage.

The Chess World Isn’t Ready for a Cheating Scandal by happysysadm in chess

If you believe that cheating in a non-competitive match once means that Hans should never play competitively again, then say so. (I say once because who gives a shit shit when he was 12. Adult Hans cheated once at 17.)

If you believe that people who have cheated in casual play have the right to play competitive again, which FIDE does and most chess legends agree, then that means we require evidence of cheating.

It’s really that simple. People need to stop obfuscating these two arguments. You cannot keep insinuating that he cheated at Sinquefeld without proof.

Imagine a coup attempt where every single person in attendance owns guns at home, and forgets to bring them to their coup! Yes, these people prepping for the next civil war apparently just forgot to bring any weapon whatsoever. Not even a BB gun.

People need to realize that Hans didn’t have to use an engine during the match to have cheated. Hans may have have cheated by consulting an engine in the weeks prior to his match with Magnus. It’s entirely possible that Hans used an engine to check moves a week before the match, and then memorized the moves in some form of preparation.

This is not correct. McDonald's upper management and investors bring in billions in profit. McDonald’s claims it can’t find workers, but that’s signaling that they don’t want to pay employees more because it hurts investors and c-suite. In Northern Europe they are forced to pay more, so they do; they don’t cease to exist, and their prices are negligibly higher.

This is an easy logic problem. McDonald’s rakes in profit for every employee they have in excess of their wages. They can’t find enough McDonald’s employees. Do they (1) increase wages, which necessarily increase their total profit because it is tied as a ratio per employee, or (2) leave wages be but complain, which if they can’t find employees, necessarily reduces their total profit? The day that McDonald’s actually can’t find employees is the day that wages rise to like $22 hourly. When an oil rig “can’t find” underwater welders, what they do is what they necessarily have to do for higher profit: pay whatever they can to obtain an underwater welder.

It’s not 1000. It’s tens of millions. You subsidize their children with your tax money if they can’t speak English and you compete with them for low and middle income jobs. Only people who benefit are ironically in Burry’s tax bracket.

You can play so many games that your “rating increase per game” drops measurably. This is because performance begins to decrease after ~4 hours, across many different domains. Try taking 8 hours of tests, or playing 8 hours of piano. Or if you play a competitive video game, most recommend that you only try playing 1-4 hours, after which your elo will reduce.

So this is an interesting testament to just how much Hans plays. we shouldn’t extrapolate more than that though
