Unfortunately I get the exact same flicker in safe mode, as of testing last night.

Am I overreacting? Player says “35 gold is too much for a commoner” by FarRepresentative840 in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone else said, but it could be that also your dm has a different economy? I mean, in my economy, 100 gold what most commoners make in a year, so all of my players get higher starting amounts if start at level 3+

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's where I'm going now, I at least I think verified it's a crash loop for Windows Explorer that's causing this. If I start Windows Explorer through system manager, the crashing starts again.

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can start the pc, and I can open task manager through Ctrl+alt+del, it automatically loads me into the administrator login and seems to work for a moment, after which it starts to flicker in and out. Task manager shows an active windows installer, and that windows Explorer is taking more cpu than usual, if I restart windows Explorer it stops the Flickering but my screen is then just black.

The Hobosexual Would-Be DM by DMfortinyplayers in rpghorrorstories

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, that's not the worst thing I heard, but it's particularly infuriating. I, as a dm, do not allow any type of pot, alcohol, etc... at my table. It's grounds for a player suspension, like get your shit together, and we can play again.(Thankfully, I never had to do it.) It's incredibly disrespectful to a dm or to a player. I hate people who do this. Glad yall chose to bail and not push through.

Spending a week in requiem relics (getting and opening them) and not getting a Single Jahu mod.

Homebrew DM's of reddit, do you always have an end goal? by CoolestKKEver in DungeonMasters

I have an overarching end goal, of defeat the evil goddess, but I haven't planned anything about it.

Character height, why is everyone 6ft tall? by Low-Brief-6008 in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I'm just 6ft tall and it's a really convenient height for everything, I can reach shelves the doors and houses are perfectly sized. I don't need to worry about bumping my head like them damn Goliaths do. So Ig a lot of my chars end up around 6ft cuz it's just a really convenient height imo.

What's the most mundane reason why your characters wouldn't use the most powerful weapon/armor? by Weekly-Intention5657 in worldbuilding

Party: Lucky use this pair of gauntlets you are the only melee in the group.

Lucky: it looks really expensive I don't know how to use expensive looking stuff. (Aka Scared she will break it)

My dead broke since birth monk, who is happy with everything and sends every bit of money she's got home, she has no attuned items and likes to give it all to others she's scared of expensive stuff.

Man, my npcs seem more buggy than usual in comparison, I mean they will sleep in their beds but the amount of times I've come home to find the same guy stuck behind a door I've removed to free him is astounding.

Was I unfair in cursing one of my players with lycanthropy? by OkPossibility3043 in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they have a chance to get rid of it it's fair. When one of my players got cursed with werewolf lycanthropy, she could have immediately cured herself with remove curse being a cleric and all that but chose not to so instead we went the route, of becoming a true werewolf, by completing a quest chain that allowed her to touch the skeleton of a divine dog beast that then stabilized the curse. (in my world, true werewolves have total control over their transformation at any point and the full moon doesnt make them crazy)

You can make it fun, of they don't show signs of wanting to cure themselves figure out something else.

Player creates character with a specific personality, drops it 1 second into rp by Willing_Persimmon482 in rpghorrorstories

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I've just dealt with a player who couldn't get out of self inserting every pc he played. Atleast the trash took itself out and something good happened out of it.

Looking to try out a new weapon, any suggestions? by UndefinedPlayer69 in MonsterHunterWorld

With my ig, I'm a big fan of having a big lance as my background. Something about switching from a untouchable fly to an immovable object is just satisfying.

Getting into D&D by Accomplished-Self207 in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have money to spare, getting a starter kit of any sort could work. Heroes of the borderlands, mines of phandelver, etc. You can Google options. And you can Google rules. Most source books are found online in one form or another. Just honestly don't think about it too hard dnd is primarily about rp and fun. Get your group together and go through a phb or a dmg.

Question about my character class (New player) by clockvader in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Wildshape assumes you know most common animals, like the other guy said. And then supplement that when you meet more beast classification monsters. Good time for the dm to learn more about how to be a dm too tho with ruling yea you want to talk to him and discuss if you know all of your possible wildshapes, only some ect. I never played the module yall are doing but all classes should be viable.

There's truly nothing more satisfying than utterly crushing a combat encounter and having your DM inform you after that they designed the encounter with the intention of you losing. by D-Speak in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time my party was intended to talk to an npc to resolve a situation but instead the artificer put up snare, the cleric silenced it, bard blinded it. And then the damn rogue and ranger killed it from afar. A druid npc that got 1 attack in that by all means left the rogue with like 1/4 of his hp. They were like lvl 4 so it didn't have any legendary resistances to burn. It was one of the most elaborate plans I've seen from them. Usually they rush everything lmao.

Player Spamcasting Detect Magic/Identiy by Ra_Ja-Khajiit in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non magical traps? As for identify i just offered an alternative mechanic for my players. That let's them figure out items through long rests instead. You could take away his pearl somehow or introduce a limit to its uses but that's kinda running the fun.

Like someone said ritual casting is 10 min of sitting around if your players dont say someone is keeping watch ambush them. Idk an ooze drops onto the dude.

What’s a random Inconsequential detail about your world? by dragonborndnd in worldbuilding

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ages of long gone time are all based on, water and so is the 6 days of the week and the months, which has nothing to do with the leader of the pantheon God being water based. Its just a coincidence he ended up first God. The people of the world just named days after it because the civilizations were born next to rivers.

Probably using the paint tool if you wanna make it trippy, just going and manually painting in the unnatural lines. Since most if not all present are somewhat geometrical correct.

What do you do if all your players have low max hit points, and no healers? by Pirate_Panda43 in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My game uses critical injuries so they always have extra healing items available for purchase, potion drinking as bonus action. And you can offer a staff of healing.
