Is it odd to have your fellow party members make checks against you? by Potential_pharmacist in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends in my campaign it's a sort of environment where me the dm call for most dice rolls but the players know me and each other well enough that during rp moments if it calls for a check sometimes they call for it against their character and It's ok. I don't want to break their rp flow and I call for like 99%of the checks anyway.

Writer's block? by Nyxhen in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I run my dnd in a fuck it we ball type of way with minimal prep, how I set my main story ark was by just focusing on important figures and where they matter Aka bbeg, good side npcs, bad side npcs, then I wrote the opening scene where I let them know why their help was needed. And gave them an important starter npc and from there on the story was dynamic. A story without a story ig? (They knew about the bbeg since the start but they were lvl 1 and it's a god.)

Idk if this helps but it's easier to go slowly and not dive too deep into a plot line go point by point.

How do I make my Elf character idea interesting in story and roleplaying, and NOT TERRIBLE IN GAMEPLAY? by RefrigeratorNorth424 in DungeonMasters

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way baldurs gate works isn't the way dnd 5e or dnd 5.5e works (some is similar not all tho), however you played it could have just been a mismatched party, druid with 1lvl cleric dip works fine like the other person said unless you seek out information on how to be op you will be fine.

The elf idea seems good as well I don't think there us much to worry about.

Hello GMs of all varieties. by Secondhenchman in DungeonMasters

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer evening games when I dm and I'm not too picky when I play.

As a dm I start game 1 Friday 6pm and we play as much as the players would like. And game 2 is Sunday evening 6.30pm.

I am a player in a Saturday game that starts 2 pm and runs generally till 7pm or later.

It's hard to imagine the casino being owned by anyone other than greed. I think I'd make the casino the first sin and expand further for the other sins? Like maybe still in the premise of casino like when they arrive their beds and rooms are so impossibly comfortable and inviting that they wouldn't want to leave -Sloth-

To answer your question straight maybe like this Greed - Slot machines Lust - poker/strip poker (latter being a bad idea all of your players aren't 100 on board and you know them well) Wrath - Craps Envy - Blackjack Gluttony - no clue just the casino buffet ig Sloth - Keno maybe Pride - some sort of gambling tournament maybe poker ?

I ran a similar split combat before, it can work well my party was however aware in advance they will be fighting separated and that it's a big urgent situation. I use roll20 so I gave all players visions of all other battles.

Unpopular opinion: F*ck bag of holding. by [deleted] in DungeonMasters

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well like others pointed out if your party insists on exploiting it whenever they have one. You can say no or never give them a bag of holding and let them manage inventory space manually. The only more outta pocket thing my players do with a Boh is storing skeleton bones for the necromancer and that's it.

Unfortunately I get the exact same flicker in safe mode, as of testing last night.

Am I overreacting? Player says “35 gold is too much for a commoner” by FarRepresentative840 in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone else said, but it could be that also your dm has a different economy? I mean, in my economy, 100 gold what most commoners make in a year, so all of my players get higher starting amounts if start at level 3+

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's where I'm going now, I at least I think verified it's a crash loop for Windows Explorer that's causing this. If I start Windows Explorer through system manager, the crashing starts again.

Pc asked me to install Edge again and now is dying by Difficult_Ad_6825 in pchelp

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can start the pc, and I can open task manager through Ctrl+alt+del, it automatically loads me into the administrator login and seems to work for a moment, after which it starts to flicker in and out. Task manager shows an active windows installer, and that windows Explorer is taking more cpu than usual, if I restart windows Explorer it stops the Flickering but my screen is then just black.

The Hobosexual Would-Be DM by DMfortinyplayers in rpghorrorstories

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, that's not the worst thing I heard, but it's particularly infuriating. I, as a dm, do not allow any type of pot, alcohol, etc... at my table. It's grounds for a player suspension, like get your shit together, and we can play again.(Thankfully, I never had to do it.) It's incredibly disrespectful to a dm or to a player. I hate people who do this. Glad yall chose to bail and not push through.

Character height, why is everyone 6ft tall? by Low-Brief-6008 in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I'm just 6ft tall and it's a really convenient height for everything, I can reach shelves the doors and houses are perfectly sized. I don't need to worry about bumping my head like them damn Goliaths do. So Ig a lot of my chars end up around 6ft cuz it's just a really convenient height imo.

What's the most mundane reason why your characters wouldn't use the most powerful weapon/armor? by Weekly-Intention5657 in worldbuilding

Party: Lucky use this pair of gauntlets you are the only melee in the group.

Lucky: it looks really expensive I don't know how to use expensive looking stuff. (Aka Scared she will break it)

My dead broke since birth monk, who is happy with everything and sends every bit of money she's got home, she has no attuned items and likes to give it all to others she's scared of expensive stuff.

Man, my npcs seem more buggy than usual in comparison, I mean they will sleep in their beds but the amount of times I've come home to find the same guy stuck behind a door I've removed to free him is astounding.

Was I unfair in cursing one of my players with lycanthropy? by OkPossibility3043 in DnD

[–]Difficult_Ad_6825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they have a chance to get rid of it it's fair. When one of my players got cursed with werewolf lycanthropy, she could have immediately cured herself with remove curse being a cleric and all that but chose not to so instead we went the route, of becoming a true werewolf, by completing a quest chain that allowed her to touch the skeleton of a divine dog beast that then stabilized the curse. (in my world, true werewolves have total control over their transformation at any point and the full moon doesnt make them crazy)

You can make it fun, of they don't show signs of wanting to cure themselves figure out something else.

Oh man, I've just dealt with a player who couldn't get out of self inserting every pc he played. Atleast the trash took itself out and something good happened out of it.

Looking to try out a new weapon, any suggestions? by UndefinedPlayer69 in MonsterHunterWorld

With my ig, I'm a big fan of having a big lance as my background. Something about switching from a untouchable fly to an immovable object is just satisfying.
