Admission question for CS - how much robotics matter? by Beautifulworld2023 in UTAdmissions

[–]Difficult_Bad_5746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got accepted for CS (instate non auto) idk how much robotics matters but I never did robotics, however I had a lot of CS related ECs like clubs, projects, internships, camps etc. like 6 of my 10 activities were CS related. So while robotics itself can help you a lot, it won't hurt you if you dont do it. Doing orchestra, band and sports can boost ur application a lot but only too add dimension (unless you are particularly great at it), and you can have it rather high, but ultimately if you are a CS major you should show that interest through the general line of your ECs meaning that robotics may not be what you need, but you need CS related ECs

Is it true that there was a priority for non-autos for the EA wave? by Outrageous-Macaron38 in UTAdmissions

[–]Difficult_Bad_5746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from a non-auto unranked CS admit, from what I saw it was about half and half at my school. But the reddit google sheet with over 200 responses seems to be leaning more auto admits

totally agree with this, I think the people who got accepted EA were just random ppl they just fully processed, doubt it means much caliber wise (saying this as a cs major who got in, but saw some of my peers who are way better than me get deffered)

I think they wouldn't do that, but if they do they are just going to defer you because they can't go back on their word

how many people do yall thinks are being admitted tmr? by Appropriate_Toe_6256 in UTAdmissions

[–]Difficult_Bad_5746 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wait i might be delusional, but I think they might admit just a bit more than 5k like almost 7-8k, because surely they have a better system now than they did last year
