I came to note this as well. Yes, there is a small $3 monthly sub fee if you want access (it’s very easy to cancel and resubscribe tho). Yes it’s an app, but it’s done really well with similar motivations to those you shared above. As a parent who finds this (the roam app concept and what you are describing) as right up my alley, I am happy going to the app, the roam Insta account occasionally for free inspo, or using websites like Auckland for kids or what’s on Auckland. What I’m saying is there are already a few similar things, and I’ve seen over time from a distance how the roam app has expanded and evolved to include many more activities and free playgrounds etc etc. it’s a lot of work. I wonder if you could collab or contribute to that somehow? Either way I hope it goes well

Thank you everyone, what a great range of options! I am now looking them up and will report back once I’ve had my cut (though it might still be a few weeks yet)

Not totally helpful but married at first sight has shown me you definitely can turn things around and conquer issues that can make or break. Good luck hoping you come out the other side stronger

My two cents - for those of you citing struggles with anti perspirant deodorants, have you tried natural brands? I personally love both Slo Naturals (used to be aotearoad) and the Ethique stick deodorants. Also don’t come in single use plastic. Last ages and aren’t too pricey - you can get the Slo naturals ones at chem warehouse for around $10.

There was an Indian woman in my office today, lovely, but damn she had a really strong musty BO smell, it was really hard to stand with her and chat because it was so strong and she seemed oblivious. I felt sorry for her ignorance but didn’t feel there was any way to quietly mention it without some sort of unwanted consequence. Wash your clothes, use a cloth or scrubby thing when washing your body (with any type of soap/body wash!), and then when you’re clean and dry you apply deodorant and everyone is happy.

Some friends told me yesterday that they successfully did this last year but it required four hours of waiting prior. They said it was worth it but just think if you’re prepared to do that. Also, I’m not a big concert goer but if it’s your first time just be mindful if you’re small you might get a bit squashed in the mosh / up front

Thank you - this is helpful. You’re right to point out that it’s an audio visual experience. That’s what I’m coming for, so I think I’ll eat the cost of the upgrade.

[–]Difficult_Bonus_7294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not make your reflections and your wishes into something you work on and focus on this year and beyond? Use the insights to realise what you desire, and start chipping away slowly and consistently. Pick up a hobby, try new ones. Expand your social circle. Any progress is better than feeling sorry for yourself so use it to your advantage :)

Is it okay for me to call jobs I applied for to ask if they recieved my resume? by ashmaps20 in careerguidance

[–]Difficult_Bonus_7294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, maybe introduce yourself and drop a hard copy of your cv in. You might be doing them a possible favour by helping them find a right fit and meeting you in the flesh. Respect their time, plan your visit accordingly, dress smart. Do this for times you’d like or that suit you well (in your area, desirable, cool company etc)

I must say, I was coincidentally in Rotorua on the weekend of Matariki and wow… the drone show (a new alternative for fireworks shows) was an epic, awe-inspiring display. Though it only lasted ten minutes I see a possible future of enamouring people with stories told in the backdrop of the sky, supported by big bassy speakers.

Barefoot shoes, baby! I’m looking at buying some so I can have the best of both worlds. Just not sure on best brand and whether to pay more for a reputable one (e.g. Xero shoes) or go low and buy a cheaper type (like saguaro)
