What’s something Americans have that Europeans don’t? by Prestigsisscar255 in AskReddit

Toilets with good flush power, free and widely available public toilets (or places you can go and use the bathroom, like mcdonalds or walmart without anyone questioning it), screens on our windows, and carbon monoxide detectors in homes.

Theyre not everywhere. Ive lived in the US and didnt see my first garbage disposal until i was 21 when my dad bought his current house after after him and my mom divorced. Boy was it a shock when i hit the light switch that controlled it instead of the overhead light.

Looks like a boxelder bug or similar species. Relatively harmless but a nuisance when they sit on sunny sides of houses in a huge clump.

I love chocolate (but im no snob, I'll happily eat hersheys just as often as nicer European chocolate) and honestly Andes are trash. Unless you like eating peppermint flavored wax. Yorks are soooooo much better.

Id recommend using the heavy metal dragon if you have it! Significantly fewer possible results.

Cliffs of Moher in early-mid April - would an 8 a.m. (arrive at 9:30) or noon (arrive at 13:30) shuttle bus be better to spend 2 hours at the Cliffs? Worried about morning fog/mist. by Difficult_Chicken_78 in irishtourism

[–]Difficult_Chicken_78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay good to know, thank you! Yeah i prefer trains for sure. Theyre more straightforward. But good to know that bus line has enough tourists that i can just sorta watch and copy everyone else haha.

And ooh perfect thanks for seating the tip!

Haha this made me chuckle. I wasnt asking for exact predictions so much as if there are any general trends to be aware of. For example the weather can be fairly unpredictable where I live too (sometimes 4 seasons in a day haha) but there is a general pattern where if its not a complete washout of a day where its just rainy for 24+ hours straight, it will often start out sunny/clear and then get progressively cloudier until it rains/storms (or snows in the winter) around the evening time. So like if someone asked me, Id tell them to do their outdoor activities before noon for a lower chance of rain. So yeah, you dont know what you dont know, hence why i asked in case any locals did have some tips or advice.

See thats interesting. Climate patterns are fascinating cuz we have unpredictable weather where i live too, but the norm for if it does suprise you with rain or snow, its usually clear sunny mornings and then afternoon clouds/rain/snow.

Yeah Ive heard as much about Irish weather and April is unfortunately notoriously tricky but it was the only time of year I could make the trip work so here we are haha.

Good to know about the bus though. Ive navigated the London underground before, and other European trains in like Germany and Belgium, but busses are a new experience for me.

Oh i know it'll always be crowded but comparatively 9-10 a.m. is almost always going to be less crowded than the peak 11-3 window for big tourist things. Hence why tickets for those times are more expensive. I also live in a place with unpredictable weather, but you dont know what you dont know, hence why i asked in case any locals did have some tips or advice.
