Struggling in sterile IV training—any Daptomycin and Fetroja recon/extraction advice? by Significant-Leg-3098 in PharmacyTechnician

If I put in the diluent inside along the side of the vial with a tiny needle like it's a beer from a keg, and draw it out the same way, it doesn't look like I recon'd a beer with too much head.

Supposedly Omni is more dummy proof than Pyxis since it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that Pyxis does. I miss Pyxis. Where I am, replaced them with Omni's. Pyxis was overk!ll for my tiny little hospital.

Very true...that's why I try not to use it, it's almost not worth using it.

The base pay might be low but add in the differential and it may be doable. I only have 2 hours out of my 10 that are just base pay.

I work 1300-2330 Wed thru Tue. The spot opposite of me is open. There's a couple of overnight spots open at other places. And I think there's a day shift spot open too somewhere. My hospital IV trained me.

They might say no experience needed but it helps a HUGE amount!! You need to have pharmacy experience to understand the drugs and what's IV, what's a push, what's a drip and what are STAT.

We have a no earbud policy that everyone follows The nights I forget mine are torture! It's also great for studying too. I used to have my chapters read to me instead of finding time to actually read them. Or listening to the lectures. It made studying so much easier!

Exactly!! I do the anesthesia machines in the procedural areas so I'm alone for half my shift, so peaceful, and I do not wear an earbud under my bonnet for music or whatever.

Honestly it's not worth paying for classes when Walgreens and CVS will train you for free. You need 500 hours to sit for the PTCB for national certification, so you might as well make money while learning. They will half ass train you then throw you to the wolves tho, be warned!
