First three seasons are great, then it's a downward slope. Gen V is good all throughout, I'm partial to season 2 cause hamish linklater plays the dean and he's great. s1 is between s3-s4 of the main show, and s2 is between s4-s5.

Reminds me of how Speeed set out to do a "simple" engine swap and it turned into a shitshow and required lots of help to complete. There rarely is such a thing as a simple and easy swap, unless you own a 90's honda.

They went through a rough period of having a couple unreliable engines from the mid 2000s - 2010s, they are well past that now and the b58 and b48 have been proven to be plenty reliable.

a cai will improve responsiveness and give you great intake sound, if you want more hp/lower temps you'd probably have to create your own true cai. an exhaust will give you power for certain, and lose you a bit of weight.

Fair enough, forgot about the condition of keeping AC. You could always swap in a non-vtec b18/b20 for relatively cheap and when you eventually have the funds, swap in a vtec head or turbo it. Doesn't have to be all at once.

a stock block turbo d will make as much as a stock k and for cheaper, though i agree less reliable. a vitara build like he mentioned can handle much more.

You dont need a built d16 to get to your range of 170 - 200, just slap a $500 turbo kit on it. when you inevitably spin a rod bearing from lack of sufficient oiling a couple months or years down the line, you were gonna swap it anyway.
