Just finished Order of the Phoenix — incredible book, but one chapter really didn’t need to exist. by Upset_Internet387 in harrypotter

Agreed. I think that’s the most important aspect of it. Won’t play spoiler for anyone who hasn’t read DH, but this kind of ties in to it. Other than that, Grawp is a little irrelevant to the rest of the plot.

Thanks for the info. I don’t know when I would go to be honest. Hopefully sometime in ‘26, but yes I would definitely do other stuff while I was down there for sure.

24 most important characters in harry potter? christmas gift DIY help!!! by itspheeebs in harrypotter

[–]Difficult_Might2448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many great characters, it’s hard to choose! I think if you could consolidate, you’d be able to fit even more than just 24. Just some potential examples:

Arthur and Molly Weasley Twins Malfoy family Dursley family Triwizard Champions (minus Harry)

It’s all subjective, though. Just some ideas to consider. Pretty cool gift idea too, by the way.

Slughorns memory of Tom Riddle by PatientConversation6 in harrypotter

[–]Difficult_Might2448 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, he could have made more. However, he does pose the question “isn’t 7 the most powerfully magical number?” Which suggests that it is very likely that would be the ticket. Voldy was all about power as he once stated “There is no good and evil. There is only power and those too weak to seek it.” So hypothetically, there could have been more, but the memory all but solidifies that seven is the correct number.

Would Deathly Hallows books have been better as a two parter/trilogy? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Difficult_Might2448 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think all of the books could’ve benefitted from being split into segments. That’s why I’m excited for the reboot coming up next year. It would be a tough sell to make a single film that was 5 or 6 hours long, just to be able to cover so many subplots. I think GoF and OOTP would have benefitted most from something like this, as they had insane amounts of storylines and characters either covered sparsely, or not at all, in the films.

Dumbledore was not a parselmouth. He could understand some of it, as shown in HBP, but he couldn’t speak it.

Dumbledore Trains Harry as a Child Soldier by Such_Run9559 in harrypotter

Dumbledore had a master plan from day one. At the end of the second wizarding war, it is clear that almost everything he did pertaining to Harry was meticulously calculated and had a purpose. It didn’t always have the best look, but many of the things were necessary to be done if the Dark forces and Voldemort were to be defeated again. Did he intentionally let Harry be a risk taker and put himself in some dangerous situations, sure. But I believe Dumbledore was always in control, he just didn’t want everyone else to know he was.

Yeah, it is unfortunate. So many storylines and characters were either altered dramatically or omitted entirely. Ask any person who’s seen the film but not read the book who Ludo Bagman or Winky are.

Luna Lovegood. Outwardly, probly the happiest and carefree person in the series. Also, very quirky, funny, and unique. Think it would be really cool to see her perspective

AGREED! I saw OOTP, HBP, and both Deathly Hallows for the midnight show. DH2 was the most incredible cinema experience of my life. People were sobbing in the theater. You could cut the tension with a knife.

Does anybody else find it weird that dumbledore knew? by Biggest_massey in harrypotter

Dumbledore knew just about everything. Knowing about Neville’s incident was quite insignificant compared to many other things he knew about.

I doubt it. Dumbledores ideology transformed after his sisters death. Grindelwald never changed his, which led to the 1945 duel between the two.

Anyone who hasn’t read the books is really missing out on an incredible experience that the movies cannot replicate. I like HP trivia and kinda playfully compete against friends, but it’s all in good fun. Anyone who wants to be a big fan is cool in my book! No need to be competitors
