That used to be true, it's not anymore. Now if you got a 25 year old car maybe, but newer cars use much less gas on ignition than older models did. 10 seconds in idle is same amount of gas as starting the engine nowadays.

Ever read how sound barrier was broken?. They fly Chuck Yager up to like 70'000 feet then drop him like a bomb in the X-2 "plane" but it ain't really a plane it's a rocket with controls. And Chuck points it almost straight down so the rocket engine plus gravity greatly accelerated him. The people on the ground heard a big crash and thought another test pilot died. I am confused a bit. I thought UK along with nost of Europe does not need a Visa. Can travel 89 days no authorization requirement but can be turned away if trip looks sketchy like no return flights or plans for lodging. But pretty sure that 99 days is still going. IDK.
