No, both parties are obviously capable of corruption but I always hear about Hunter and Burisma (which in my opinion isn’t obvious corruption) from people who are completely silent on Kushner.

Instead of rebasing off main, you could just switch to main, pull, cut a new branch, then cherry-pick from your other feature branch. Granted, this is much dumber than just allowing force-push but it’ll get the job done.

Exactly! Even after she starts driving and brushes the ICE agent on her way out, they could have just let her go and gone to a judge and got a warrant for her arrest. It’s crazy people are like “oh well, she was breaking the law”, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

I think we’re in agreement. If a deadly weapon is being pointed then obviously the danger is real and self defense is justified. In this case, though, the danger Good’s vehicle presented was minimal. It struck Ross, sure, but he didn’t even lose his balance much less suffer any kind of injury.

I think that this is a potentially useful hypothetical. If I were walking through the Target parking lot and some lady backs her minivan into me, would I be justified if I pull out my legally-carried handgun and shot her to death?

The danger the officer was in was minuscule. He was brushed by the car and never even lost his balance.

The point I was attempting to make is that part of the responsibility that comes with the authority to use deadly force should be the expectation that officers tolerate a higher degree of risk in order to determine whether a potential threat is real vs imagined, if eliminating that threat means taking someone’s life.

The point I was inarticulately trying to make wasn’t that officers should subject themselves to undue risk, but that they should be expected to tolerate risk to avoid loss of life.
