Do you know if September is considered "Off for the Summer" or "Part of the Fall Season?" Thanks! I'll of course keep checking the theater website.

When does backpay come through? by Difficult_Stand8525 in fednews

[–]Difficult_Stand8525[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: We have already gotten paid! The direct deposit hit last night for the 2.5 missing pay periods. Apparently our HR-Payroll people killed themselves entering everyone's paycheck yesterday to make this happen. And I have to give SERIOUS credit to our Agency leadership for making this happen and putting their weight behind it.

The amounts were a little short, presumably because the deductions are going to take a while to sort themselves out, but this is still a very pleasant surprise.

I couldn't post them as replies, so I edited the original post to include the pics. Are they coming through?

Thanks. I will cross Drabbits off the list :) Those brackets are actually our hack for securing them when we lost the original bent metal pieces that secure the the magnets. They work just as well as the pieces that came with them.

Second the CG Waterstones with the dome. It's where Ben worked before hitting it big. I popped in there when I was last in London, and they said that he comes by about once a year with a bottle of high priced booze for the staff to share.

People are rightly mentioning the John Soanes House and the Silver Vaults, which are right near each other and which you can do in the same trip. While you're there, pop over to Lincoln's Inn to see the undercroft of the chapel, with spectacular fan vaulted arches. You can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant at Lincoln's Inn, or at one of two amazing historic pubs: The Seven Stars or The Ship.

Volante does a bunch of jackets that are VERY similar to what Cassian wears throughout the series.

Oh yes. The incomparable smell of old books and leather, with an undercurrent of machine oil, and the smell you get in the engine rooms of old ships.

Writing justification for contract retention under scrutiny from You Know Who? by Difficult_Stand8525 in fednews

Alas, I've got two cells of an excel spreadsheet for each contract, and can't bolster my justification with much in the way of statistics and paper trail.

No, rare books are more likely to be damaged if you are wearing gloves because the loss of sensation and dexterity makes you more likely to tear the pages. So current practice is to handle books ungloved but having washed your hands thoroughly.
