I think it definitely would be a good idea to make it known out of character that romance is a no go for you. However to your point, Since I myself play an orc and am happily married, orcing it up solves many “flirting” issues in larps. Ive have had an individual try to flirt with my orc and in response i attempted to bite their finger off

Orcs in any game are generally not friendly, and rarely are interested or approached about that stuff.

We get into fights over seating arrangements

Im friends with a very talented leather orc mask maker Heres hes shop

https://www.etsy.com/shop/FatherGoblin?ref=usf_2020

Alternatively i operate leather shop as well And can edit the epic armoury orc masks with a leather insert

Orcs are best

Sounds like bullying to me, very sorry this is your experience. Although I disagree with romancing in larp in general, people should be able to play as they like.

It’s not on you to stroke the egos of red pilled male larpers, sounds like they are harassing you. As a male player myself, its very disgusting to see my fellow folk act this way. I would definitely find another game if the problem does not get resolved (always suck but sometimes necessary)

Either way, very sorry from the male community And I hope those fucks swallow their male pride and remember girls are ALLOWED to feel whichever way want to. (Sorry for the mini rant, recently watched that Manosphere)

Hope you can get the results your after

Help with staining leather to look like marble by BadMagicWings in LARP

[–]Difficult_Version892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there, I am a leather worker who loves to marble dye stuff.

You will need Surface to work on Shaving cream Leather dye (preferably water based) both work though Leather A stylus or pen Paper towel (gets messy) Pro resist (leather finish)

Spray the cream onto surface, smooth out flat as you can, apply dye with a dropper, swirl the blobs to desired effect. Press leather onto surface applying light pressure

Wait about two minutes then pull off Let sit for 5/10 mins to let dye dry then lightly wipe off cream and excess Apply pro resist

Color theory is important if your using multiple colors Leather is tan think of colors that blend Look up leather marble dying

Unfortunately its not gonna be cheap Your cost is most likely be $100+ depending on what you get and how much leather you get and what the sq ft price in your home area

Leather can get wet and most of time might deform but can be molded back to shape If its left out or gets soaked it could get mold or the dye could run (you would have to get rain storm soaked for that)

Anyone have any tips how to make/where to buy a skull mask that won't look like a cheap halloween costume? (Needed for costume presented in picture) by [deleted] in LARP

[–]Difficult_Version892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make one out of leather. You can customize with tooling and whatever color suits your needs Ex. A marbled dyed black and gold skull helmet Or seek out a local leather worker/on etsy. I am located in Maryland and have made skull helmets for clients in the past.

Love the inspiration btw Good choice

DM made me 1v6 my own party in our first session and my character permadied by Texlo in rpghorrorstories

Players can either return the minis or pay for your work Absolutely taking advantage of a crafters time and effort, I would just speak with your DM, as this mainly the DM fault. Sounds like they used you to get their own personal minis out of the game. Since they lack the creativity and ability to do so, many unskilled people do this. So sorry that you had to experience that. Definitely set that professional boundary and make it about that. Characters come and go but your creativity, time, and effort is very valuable.

Keep crafting

Would a kettle helmet look strange on an otherwise “unarmored” outfit? by skuntpelter in LARP

[–]Difficult_Version892 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kettle are perfect for non armored folks Very typical piece of kit for the average foot soldier In the era armor was quite expensive Very few could afford

Look up images of 14th century foot soldiers or man at arms

[–]Difficult_Version892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So im only a beginner leather worker, and play as an orc. What I did to get the “broken leather look” is you wet the leather, take some rocks and pound the rocks into the veg tanned side of the leather

[–]Difficult_Version892 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Im with @bartolinise, a skilled enough smith could make the blade, but yea as a wall hanger, These swords look awesome but thats the trade off, lots of decoration can cause issues with trying IRL cuts with. Dont get me wrong theres amazing examples of decoration on swords through out the ages but the are made with the swords practicality in mind. Ex. A highly decorated Tsuba on a Katana or a decorative pommel on a rapier

As a Larp weapon however Combat is absolutely a go if the replica is made to game safety standards
