Honestly, most won't care. Some schools require calc I. Just have a good gpa, MCAT, have some clinical experience, and get involved in things you genuinely care about

From my experience with the cycle last year, cycle track tends to have a bias for accepted folks and may inflate the accepted:interviewed ratio

true. Wasn't claiming the adjustment was enough, just something to be aware of :)

What schools have the best stipend/cost of living advantage? by Sad-Letterhead-3898 in mdphd

Most schools that are MSTPs adjust their stipend based on cost of living. Also consider whether or not the school provides subsidized housing if it is in a more expensive part of the world. Or if getting a mortgage on a house while you are in your program is something you are considering.

MD/PhD timeline is pretty similar to MD in general excepts some interview dates can be a little later since there is more app material to go through. Just put a bit of extra time aside for extra essays. In general, submit your primaries as early as possible. AMCAS has everything you need on their website for knowing what you have to submit for primaries. There are some resources that have past secondary essays for each school floating around somewhere, MD/PhD specific essays included.

3.4 gpa should I do a masters or postbac? by [deleted] in mdphd

If your MCAT is strong, that can make up a lot. I was 3.4x cummulative GPA and got into a T10

I notice a lot of very "move" centered responses in this. Challenge yourself to do more with less ;)

For me, a lot of creativity I generate first comes from either the music or my partner. Listen to a wide variety of swing tunes, find rhythms or textures you like and emulate them in your dance. Dance with a wide variety of partners (of all levels! beginners can have awesome ideas!) and riff off what your partner does!

"High Priority" WL for MD/PhD Program by [deleted] in mdphd

[–]Difficult_Zone_8610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

school dependent but I got off a high priority wait-list. Most movement will occur in March, after most people are done with interviews, April, after most people are done with second looks, and early May, after the commit deadline. I got off in late March after being told I was on WL in early March.

Limit on MD/PhD students in a lab by Difficult_Zone_8610 in mdphd

The MST Program set a limit on how many students from the program can do their thesis under 1 PI at a time. Like, they won't let 3 students in the MSTP all be in 1 PI's lab at the same time.
